Something not right?

Description

Dispersed camping. Near Teutonia Trailhead. Beautiful spot between rocks and Yoshua Trees. Several sites. You'll need some ground clearance to get to some sites. No large RVs, but trucks ok.

Full-size trucks or Sprinter type rigs can access this area easily. I would recommend 4-wheel drive and good clearance, however.

Latest Check-Ins

Stayed 3 nights, great spot right off Kessler Peak Road.

Report Check-In

Rolled in here in the dark - wasnt impossible to find if you just follow the cords. Very quiet all night except for a hiker leaving the trail and a single car passing by on the main road to get here.

Beautiful fireplace and the views in the morning were spectacular. We parked between the two large Joshua trees (would fit a camper for sure). 5 stars.

.25 miles dirt road in from coma road. some rocks on road, but safe for most cars. big site with stone fire pit. ratings not working but 5/5

Report Check-In

Stayed at the midpoint of the small dirt road that starts at the cross. Beautiful site. One side of the road was torched by the fire, the other side was still pristine. Fortunately many of the Joshua trees seem to have survived the fire. Hopefully the underbrush and grasses will be back in a few years. No problem driving the road with an extended length Transit (2WD).

Adding that a fire devestated this area in Aug 2020, this site seems to have some ofthe only non-burned trees. https://www.latimes.com/environment/story/2020-09-06/mojave-desert-fire-destroys-the-heart-of-a-beloved-joshua-tree-forest

Awesome spot, definitely the best in the area. Right next to the Joshua trees. 1 bar Verizon here!! High clearance reccomended, but I made it in a Prius so you can too ;) Wouldn’t take a big RV in here, nowhere to turn around.

I drove a while and arrived to find all these spots taken. Grateful to the man who let me crash at his space, which was breathtaking with Joshua Trees not burnt in recent fires. I left super-early.

Report Check-In

We stayed here one evening. The views are nice and the campsite level. We drove a little further down the dirt road to find another site because the first one was taken. There is no shade or protection from the sun so it gets hot early. There are a lot of little bugs every where. :)

Nice place between Yoshua Trees.

Report Check-In

We stayed on this access road between Cima Rd and Kessler Peak Rd. There are a number of sites (we marked a different one we stayed at) including this one. We walked the whole area after we set up. Very nice.
