Dead end road in the woods on FS 168. Fire ring but no other amenities. 1-2 bars Verizon LTE. Permit is $10 for 3 days and you can buy it online or in the visitor's center.
I tried to go to the spot on the lake near here but it was full so I wanted to add this so people know there are other options nearby. There were some other roads (not on the map) along FS 168 that might work too.

Flat spot big enough for my van to turn around and a fire ring at the end of forest service road 168. You can see the lake but there's no access. It's roughly 3 miles from 453 (The Trace Rd). Medium or high clearance is needed. My rwd van had no trouble. Three 4G att bars, two 5G T-mobile bars.
