Description

Fantastic campground owned by an amazing host, Barbara. She also has incredible people working for her, and everyone is super inviting and helpful. There are many different options to choose from for camping. Vehicles can park beachfront and there are a few outlets to plug into (extension cords recommended). Tables and hammocks throughout the beachfront side of the property. (5000pp). The main property has a variety of camping options (Ranging from tents to single dwellings that have electricity range from 5000-20,000 /night). Barbara also rents out her very welcoming home for $100US dollars/night. There is a community outdoor kitchen on property with everything you need that is donation based off of what you use. Toilets and showers are cleaned daily and the whole property is well taken care of. Dogs on site that live on property, all of them SUPER friendly and got along with my pup. I usually only stay places one night and move on but I just loved the atmosphere, people, amenities so much that I stayed longer!

Such a beautiful place! You can camp directly at the beach (where you can plug in) and we had the beach for ourselves. You can stay in nature with having everything you need (clean facilities, well equiped kitchen, super nice owner and employees and Starlink internet). Monkeys and sloths come by and they have very nice dogs.

Barbara's place is absolutely suitable for overlanders who enjoy exploring. From here you can visit all the tourist attractions in the area and use the existing infrastructure (Cahuita National Park, the village of Cahuita and the tourist resort of Puerto Viejo and a lot of other attractions. Discovery tours into the mountains are possible, and you can also visit Indian reserves. On this huge camping site in this area of the wonderful Caribbean world there is enough space for a real "Pura Vida" life, with time, mindfulness and leisure. Actually we had almost the entire beach for ourselfs. Camping near the palm trees is very pleasant, these palm trees cast enough shade for not overheat the tent or the car. Barbara and her crew are absolutely great and friendly. Barbara does know a lot about the area and has ideas for your needs and travel wishes. She speaks Bernese, German, French, English and Spanish. Thanks, it was so great!

Went intending to camp 1 evening, but stayed for 3 nights (paid 5000/night). Set up my tent under a palapa on the beach. Parked in the gated compound across the road. Very welcoming people, nice bathrooms, quiet (no noise to speak of), and feels safe (left my gear in my tent while in town or out walking—no problems). Nice beach all to yourself and all the coconuts you care to drink.

Do not come here if you want to sleep!
The staff starts making noises from 5.30 am. Loud music all day.
At 7 pm they received a small group of people and organized a party few mt from us with loud music until we asked to stop at 2.30 am and they reluctantly did but early in the morning they restart again. We had to leave but at least they discounted the second night.
5000 colones per van.
5000 colones for kitchen use.
