Description

this is an dedicated self contained parking lot. providing 6 vehicle only (no big rigs, no trailer) parking. safely away from the street. payment machine required 35$ for overnight use. you have to enter after 5pm.and leave before 10am.

garbage, portable toilets, coal bbq and hand wash stations provided. nothing fancy but felt safer than off street parking on the busy PCH.

Has walking trails overlooking the ocean. Park attendant does check to confirm payment There is a dump station across highway at campground entrance which pays additional but it's very close as well.

don't know about all the former reviewers. it's certainly now 35$ a night for the "self contained overnight" parking lot. provided restrooms. dump station across the street is additional 7$ if you need it. got it on a busy weekend without problems only 2/6 were taken. safe place away from the street. North cal coast is expensive, nothing great but we preferred this to offatreet parking on the busy PCH. yes rangers are checking here have to leave before 10 not cheap but ok I guess.

Don’t go here overnight!

Stopped by to park ~7pm; initially planned to park for the night in van for $7 and leave before 10am, however was stopped by a ranger about 5 minutes upon arrival and after some confusion about pricing, ranger stated it was $35 per vehicle to park overnight in overflow lot and $7 is for day use only. We had two vans, so especially for us, $70 just to park self contained no amenities seemed outrageous.

Rangers are very active here, for a parking lot with fire pits (water available, no bathroom) this seems very overpriced. Left to camp elsewhere. Headed to casino up the road in point arena, but learned it is generally accepted in Mendocino county to sleep in pull offs off 1…

Quiet place to stay. Water fountain with spigot. Picnic tables and grills. Woke up to ocean view.

I ended up staying in this overflow lot for $7 because the campground was closed. I am in an SUV and not completely ‘self contained’ (check photo of signage). This place was great, there’s a washroom in the overflow parking lot and water spigot. I was completely alone in the parking lot. Ranger came by at 6am to unlock the gate for the day use area. But didn’t bother me at all.
