Description

Le Petit Bedon is a restaurant/bar right on the beach. Sebastian the owner is a very friendly and jovial Frenchman and is happy to let overlander camp in front of the bar for free if you're using the bar.
Clean toilets and cold showers, highly recommended.

Latest Check-Ins

We stayed only 1 night there, as we crossed the border with Ghana in the evening and arrived around 9pm. To our surprise the bar/restaurant was closed already and Sebastian was going to sleep, apparently the place is only open until 6pm. The first comments are confusing in here, we thought that there was a parking in front of the bar on the beach but you basically have to park on a busy narrow street, with no privacy whatsoever. We managed to park, next to an abandoned bar close to Sebastian place but it was shady and dirty also. In the morning, we felt and didn't get to see the restaurant or bar. We don't recommend this place for camping/staying or maybe we had too high expectations.

Nice bar at the beach (closed on Monday), dirt track to reach it is very busy at the weekend. 7500+ for a meal and 1500 small beer, they don't have vegetarian food on the menu but they made something special for my partner (5000cfa), also Nespresso coffee machine 1500. Waves too extreme to swim here, it's true the nice owner Sebastian allows you to sleep outside & use of toilets/ shower as a customer.

There is no carpark, you park on the dirt track with no privacy and many cars passing during the day, we stayed 2 nights and on the second we were woken up by a huge argument and fight in the street, police turned up to arrest a girl.

The bar is nice but I personally cannot recommend sleeping here due to my experience. It's difficult as there are not many places near Abidjan, traffic to get here is terrible. For a better option consider Drogba beach a bit further along the main road in Bassam

Super friendly owner Sébastien who once arrived at the Ivory Coast as a soldier 20 years ago. We had a beer with him at the bar and interesting conversations about Ivory Coast and travelling. He speaks English and is very helpful. The night was quite.
