Large saltpan mostly covered by sand. Dry and hard but might change after rain. You cross the dunes on a sandy road and then turn on to the flat saltpan - marked spot is just 100m from the road. 4x4 recommended.
In this section of the main road it is advisable to stay within about 1km radius of the road. The border police stopped while we parked at the roadside (main road). They informed us that it is not allowed to go any further into the desert to both sides of the road (1km was ok for them). So this spot might be a good compromise with beautifull views and no noise from the road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
This place can't be reached anymore due to an enormous guard rail that had been placed along the road. Other side of the road doesn't have a guard rail so you could camp on that side.
