Description

This is THE PLACE to BE in this area! We came here to see the Catatumbo lights and it was so fantastic. You can stay here in this beautiful place in your truck, van or in a tent, or rent one of the beautiful rooms. Beautiful communal kitchen, living area and very clean bathrooms with hot showers! The buildings are fantastic and in the huge garden you can see toucans and hummingbirds. price for staying in your car and tent is 10$ per night, staying in a room is 10$ per person. The owners are very welcoming and help you with everything. They also brought us to the town to see the Catatumbo spectacle for a small amount. The climate here is fantastic, warm in day, cool in the night. You also can bathe in the river! Totally recommended!!! WhatsApp+58 4160582930

We learned about El Rancho from Franklin, who encouraged us to visit his humble guest home when he heard we were going to visit Venezuela.
El Rancho is located just outside La Azulita, high enough in the mountains that the hot shower and light blankets were both welcome.
The views were stunning, the silence deafening and the welcome very warm. Franklin and Alejandra were outstanding hosts. We were even tucked in one night by an amphibious ambassador!
Special thanks to Marbelis for the wonderful meals she prepared for us morning and evening.
Simple, rustic, tranquil - I can see why people enjoy staying here! If you're going to be in the area, consider staying at @posadaelrancholaazulita
US$10 per person per night in a room. US$5 per person per meal.

Awesome place, beautiful rancho. Colibries all around you. After a busy few weeks it was perfect here to rest. We stayed 5 nights and the utilities are good: hot shower, cooking area and nice lounge.

Franklin and Alejandra were super friendly and helpful. Their kids are super nice too.

Franklin even went with us to mechanics for a problem we had and helped us get diesel. He also showed us around in the area.

We can only recommend this place, no flaws and we hope to come back some day!

It really is an oasis of calm. Alesandra and Franklin are great hosts and you feel at home. Franklin speaks English and gives you lots of good tips for your tour through Venezuela. We stayed here with our truck for 3 days. Suitable for heights up to 3.60m.

Once you're here, you don't want to leave again. Hummingbird and toucan in sight. A large area for safe camping, overlanding or staying overnight in one of the rooms. Everything very clean. Good WiFi. And if you wish, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Alejandra and Franklin are very attentive hosts.

I paid $15 for the largest room with a small kitchen and private bathroom.

Agree with previous posts, this is THE PLACE to go. I spent my first 2 nights in Venezuela here and immediately felt like family. As soon as I arrived I was offered free delicious coffee and given a tour. I got in late and was setting up my tent when the owners offered me a room for free because it was already getting dark. I stayed in my tent anyways but the offer was amazing. Alejandra insisted I eat dinner with the family and made me a plate. Franklin speaks perfect English as well and gave me tons of advice and a route for my next month or two in Venezuela. When I was leaving he drove to the petrol station with me to make sure they would fill my tank. it's not only the owners who are great but the whole location feels like you're in an old medieval inne. amazing views, a river to swim in (not in dry season), surrounded by hummingbirds and Toucans. The grounds are huge and tons of places to put up your tent, or park your rig or get a room. Nice outdoor kitchen as well and free filtered water. This is the type of place you could stay for a month.
