This site is accessed just before KM23 on Mex 5. An old tire is resting atop a concrete pillar on east side of road. The area is massive, and very flat. There is a small area of water between you and the ocean, easy to traverse at low tide, harder during high tide. 2wd and heavy van friendly.

Easy to miss headed south on highway 5. Roughly 30 minutes south of San Felipe. You’ll see the tire on top of the concrete slab and turn there. We were in a Tacoma and had no problem with the roads but be mindful if you have only 2WD or in a car not made to be off roading. Lots of spots to camp on the way in we got rather close to the beach and were able to walk over. Would recommend this spot the sunrise and sunset were insane! Only thing is to be wary of coyotes if you have a dog as we heard them all night.
Report Check-Inafter a long bumpy road we found a lovely campsite on a hill. there’s also a giant flat space below. it would get muddy in rain, but otherwise fine.
Report Check-InExtremely large area suitable for any size rig. Bumper pulls will need to go very slow on the road in; solid, no sand, just a little rough. We were in a convoy of 3 camper vans. Drive in thru assorted firm dunes, road drops off the dunes to an expansive playa area near the lagoon tidal area. Roads meander everywhere; they get softer nearer the water. Could be impassable in wet conditions! We stayed at last elevated platform before the playa. Nice views.
