Lovely site. We appreciated the sheltered restaurant area when the storms came! Bring a long extension lead if you need power.

Well managed and clean camping. Super friendly and helpful owner. Ideal base for exploring the area extensively.

The access road to this place is leading across a bridge which was touching the water level when we arrived. The owner later said it was the first day in 2 weeks one could drive across. Keep in mind when arriving in rainy season.

Got here around 6 pm as we were escaping the cyclone rains. There is phone number to be called to get the gate access key but we didn't have a South African sim card yet. I went to the gate of the nearby mansion and the security guy luckily helped me to get a hold of the owner.

The owner was very friendly, didn't even show us the campsite but opened one of the chalets. He didn't want us to need to set up the tent in the rain. Charged the same price as for camping and we were very happy about that.

Had a peaceful stay.

Great place. Clean shower, toilets and Kitchen. wifi. Laundry. Bar. Nice staff. And of course lot of hippos in the river. We had problems on our Land Rover Defender and we stayed here 6 nights (and met 5 others defender's owners)!

Fantastic spot, very quiet and grassy. Only 3,5 kilometers from road but the unpaved road is completely ok. The owner took time to show us the hippopotamus in the river. Hot water in the bathrooms is up and down, sometimes yes, sometimes no. We spent first one night and we came back a couple of days later for another night.

It is the best option around Nelspruit. The campsite is nice, we liked it. Because of car problems we had to come to Hippo Waterfront 3 times within 3 weeks. The service became less, (no warm water) and the ablution block could do it with a bit more cleaning. Still a nice place

Nice place with 6 campsites. Every campsite has its own ablution room.
Hippo's are in the river. We saw and heard them breath. We did not see them.
Paid 350 cash.

Can recommend this spot for a night or two, before or after the Mozambique border or if needing to restock in Nelspruit. For ZAR350 cash or ZAR395 card per camp spot it is pricey for what one gets: overall a pleasant experience; had to ask for our own separate ablution to be cleaned (after been promised it would be the day before) which each camper gets to use for themselves; can hear the traffic from the N4 at night; road here is quite corrugated.

Lovely place tucked away from the main road overlooking a river with a family of resident hippos. Very friendly manager, flat campground with kitchen, private toilet and shower. There is also an honesty bar and a dart board, would definitely visit again.

We loved our stay here! We arrived for the weekend, but there was a large group on the camp. So we get upgraded to a chalet. For the same price as camping (295 R for two people)
The owner helped us with a good garage for our car to do some maintenance. After Namibia all our bushings where gone...
This garage did a good job repairing it! (We placed him on I-Overlander, TMN Auto garage)
So we stayed 6 nights on this peaceful green place with the sound of hippos.

Very nice campsite next to the river. Own ablution block with hot shower, toilet and sink. There is a small kitchen available with fridge and freezer. Wifi available as well at the reception also if you place your tent close by. Price 250 rand per night, 3 people with 2 (small) tents. We did see 4 hippo's in the river, they where there nearly all day.
