While this lake / reservoir isn't really a destination, it can be a nice place to camp en route to or from the canyon. The place marked isn't the campsite, but is the beginning of a road leading down through the dunes to the lakefront where you can camp - 4WD not needed as it's very firm sand. Lots of flat ground to park on, and you can swim in the lake too. No shade though and a little exposed. Stunning sunset and sunrise!

Nice place, there are two places to eat, there is a dining room and a trailer with fast food. There are no public baths. Be careful with storms.
Agradable lugar, hay dos lugares para comer, hay un comedor y un trailer con comida rápida. No hay baños públicos.
Report Check-Inthis place is absolutely amazing, we arrived around 3pm and around 10pm there were nobody left there (apart from other travelers staying for the night) and we had a quiet night. we left around 9am the next day and still no one there :)
Report Check-InLovely wild camp directly on the beach of the lake. Swam and played in the water and sand, then watched an amazing sunset. Lots of families there in the day but everyone left in the evening. Windy at night. Sand flies in the morning!
Report Check-Innice place for say and night. stood save in front of the hotel. directly at the lake. very quiet at night but busy on daytimes because it's high season. you can come with your Quat and drive into the dunes like the Rallye Dakar does.
Report Check-InWe had all the beach for us. In the afternoon we saw some locals kitesurfing. Thousands of birds and also hundreds if flamingos here. Awesome place!
Report Check-Inwe stayed here again overnight with our motorhome, no problem to drive at the hard beach. Nice sunset and good starting point into the canyon rincon de actuel.
Report Check-InLong beach where you can camp anywhere. beautiful sunset and sunrise, pleasant lake to swim.
Lot of people here on the evening with barbecues and motorbikes but everybody left at night
Invasion of sand flies in the morning, we couldn't stay here for breakfast it was impossible to breathe or open the mouth without eating them...
Beautiful spot right by the river! just follow the sand road down to the river. no 4×4 needed.
Report Check-Inwe stayed here overnight on the packed beach, not so bad here.
Report Check-InWe were just some metres near this spot. On beach near nice lake with ducks. Amazing view to vulcano.
Calm place, nearest houses are aprox. 600 metres.
Not needed 4WD, sand is "friendly" for everyone. 🚙
Good place for overnight eventually for some days of relaxing.
