crazy ride -only 4x4- but the end is on the Cliff for amazing sunset!
first gate is for the animals
second gate is for registration to cross the windturbines
third gate (on the left after 100ish m) is for the animals too
… and after that you can camp and climb OR you drive up to the cliff (serious tilt and diff loc) but totally doable! Have fun!
(The road is from Sabana Larga and not from the gas station >> no maps shows the way until the top but the path is there- used from locals as well or ask us on IG for help)
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
ps: we are kind of sad that somebody with a different driving experience says this it not doable with cars. We did it with a LC200 which is not a smallest overlanding vehicle but the point is: because of these kind of comments some of you stops experiencing and adventuring the country
I uploaded some photos of the sketchy parts we let you decide - for any further help of any of our previous spots you can contact us no worries mate
I drove there from san francisco, i dont think you can drive straight up from the panamerican highway (at least the guy that lives at the start of that trail told me that. He also told me its safe to camp there)
Near the top you pass a guard from the wind park but he was very friendly and only wanted to note my name
I nearly couldnt get up the last part with my heavy luggage on my motorcycle and i for sure you cant drive that way with a car (very narrow parts, almost didnt fit with my panniers)
But the locals drive up there with their small bikes and it is an amazing place to camp
