All still as described in the other reviews, great spot on the edge of the forest. Minor price rise, it is now $5 pppn (18000 UGX).

Report Check-In

Noise from the road is very annoying! But of course the reason you come here is for the chimpanzee Tracking and for that matter spending one night here is absolutely worth it, especially for 10,000 UGX pp! We saw around 10 chimpanzees in a 3h30 hike +- 7km. It was very nice and the price 140,000 UGX is absolutely fair. Airtel and MTN internet signal works but very unstable!

Report Check-In

As described lawn for camping and rtt. Woman and children stay here but we'll behaved. Noise from road can be heard and baboons plus colobus monkeys. 10k ugx, cold shower, clean toilets, trek was good through the forest making it so natural, saw 3 chimps forest was very quiet. Run by N forest so price is only $40 or 140k ugx. Preferred to support local community then pay $200 in kibale.

The camp is totally ok, shower, toilet was absolutely fine for us, no issues, we loved the cold shower, at night we joined the family for an African worship incl. a devils exorcism of a young girl, what an amazing authentic experience. We were very welcomed during the whole ceremony and joined with the singing and dancing. The place is clean and best to stay before Chimps tracking. Prices are 140.000 for treck and 10.000 pppn. Perfect for us.

AMAZING!
No more words needed.
Ok, the campsite is not that good. But for the night before you do the Trekking it’s ok.
The rangers are very well educated. They know everything. Staff are very friendly, helpful and they are speaking English well.

A must visit if you want to see chimpanzees. Deborah and the team are fantastic and very accomodating. Campsite is basic but absolutely fine for cyclists or overlanders. Camping 10,000 pppn, trek 140,000.

Report Check-In

So the campsite is not great, but our guided birding walk with Robert was really enjoyable, and although not expected, we came upon a group of chimpanzees.
Campsite 10,000 pppn and guided walk 70,000 pp.

Report Check-In

great experience. we could negotiate free camping for our 3 kids so paid 20 000 for the night

Report Check-In

While we weren't very lucky with the chimps (we only saw one male and a fleeting glimpse of a female with baby), the campsite was fairly good. 10 000 for the RTT per night. The toilet was clean but the shower is rather nasty, smelling of urine and cold water.

But the price is good and the staff friendly and helpful! We spent two nights and did enjoy our stay. Watch out for the baboons while cooking!

Incredible experience! Very friendly and welcoming staff. Right on the edge of the jungle. Allowed us to put our tent up inside the classroom because it was so wet outside. Camping 10,000 UgS pppn. Very clean flush toilet. Did not use shower. Chimp trekking cost 140,000 UgS pp and started at 7:30am. Debbie was our guide. She did an excellent job. We managed to have 3 different experiences with the chimps including alpha males, juvenile and mother and baby chimps. They remained quite high feeding in the canopy but still it was such an amazing experience. Felt like we spent way more than an hour with them. We were back by 11am. Highly recommend this experience.

Still same. Camping 10.000, I liked staying there with the tent.
Chimp trekking 140.000, nice guides, go in the morning you'll be almost sure to see them

Report Check-In

We came from Mbarara to see the chimp. We arrived at 1pm for the afternoon departure at 3pm, the lady said its loo late we should have booked. I told her we called the number on the website but it was not available thats why we came without booking. She said we have to book for tomorrow morning. If think she was just too lazy she was sleeping in her room when we came. So we made all this way and we could not do the chimp trakking. I dont recommend at all.

Report Check-In

Very cool place to see the chimps. Robbert let me sleep in the classroom. Beautiful forest with different kind of monkeys walks in the morning and afternoon.

Report Check-In

Great place to see the chimps for only $40pp. You can pay in shillings as well. Deborah was our guide and she did not gave up to see the chimps. After 3h walking we finally found 1 male and later one mom with 3 little ones! Also other monkeys around: red-tailed and L’Hoest. They have trackers who go early in the morning. We didnt camp here, because it was raining. Start time at 7.30

Report Check-In

Didn't seemed to be a "real" campsite as you park at the ground of a family living there and you can use their shower (cold, quite nasty), but you have your own toilet. No facilities for cooking or washing up your dishes. Lawn was pretty muddy when we stayed there. You can book the chimpanzee tracking right there (we booked it in the afternoon for the next morning, less then 40$ pp) and it starts and ends right at the "camp". After less than 1 hour walking we saw a group of 5-6 chimpanzees and we were allowed to stay with them and follow them for about 1,5-2 hours. This was a really great experience and we highly recommend it!

Report Check-In

We can’t confirm the statement below. The Chimp Tracking was really nice. We saw around 10-15 Chimps with 4 baby’s. Our guide Deborah was really good and you can feel that she loves her job. And for 40$ instead of 150$ in Kibale it’s perfect for overlanders 😉 the campsite isn’t really nice and looks sad.

Report Check-In

Campground is allright, a bit close to the road. The chimp tracking was 140 000 shilling pp. They leave at 6.30 in the morning. We hiked through the forrest for four hours and found one chimp. It ended in a chimp chase with 40 people after this poor animal. At least it was a nice workout in the morning.

Report Check-In

Very basic campsite for 10000UGX, but seen baboons and blackandwhite colobus monkeys at camp. Friendly staff. Chimps tracking (40$) starts from the spot. Due rain haven't seen chimps and could go next day for half price. Because we started earlier i had more time to observe chimps.

Report Check-In

everything as stated below. very basic amenities but cheap chimp trek and friendly staff. great spot!
