stayed several nights peaceful and great trails. Easy to access with any vehicle though the road is a bit bumpy but no issues
Report Check-InTons of dispersed camping at Buffalo creek suitable for all tent, car, van, and rv campers! Is up slighty washboarded dirt road but my low clearance 2wd does Connect made it no problem! Would love to add spots 27 & 28 have a private trail that leads to the best look out. This is a more popular area since it’s closer to Denver so arrive early and pack it out / leave no trace!
Report Check-InSo many great pull off spots with incredible views and well maintained fire pits. Only 20 min from 285 this is a great spot and rarely completely full
Report Check-InAs described by others, many designated spots. I have 1-3 bars AT&T. This is the best spot I’ve found in all my camping days.
Report Check-InCell service is weak. only a few spots that have decent starlink sky views. great camping!
Report Check-InPlenty of spots along the road. Great views and lots of tree coverage.
Report Check-InEnjoyed my stay , I stay at camp site 2 just past the Porta potty on the right side. T-mobile wasn’t great. I only had 1 bar. A lot of mountain bikers and hikers using the Colorado Trial that runs across the dirt road. I would stay again.
Report Check-InGreat free dispersed campsite at the Pike National Forest. Pull offs are uneven in some spots. Quiet with many trails around. Road is fairly firm but washboard in some areas, 4 wheels drive not required. we stayed with our camper van in #13 and it was a quiet spot.
Report Check-Inlots of numbered dispersed sites down this road, we saw at least 13 spots and had cell service the entire time (tmobile). some sites have porta potties and all have a fire ring. the road is dirt with some bumps and holes but we had no issues getting our van through.
Report Check-Intons if dispersed camimg along 550, plus 3 camp grounds all the way up to Wellington Lake.
Report Check-InGreat spots! We tried to visit the lake but the road was not made for sedan so we had to turn back when we almost reached the lake. So for those of you who are in a sedan and thinking of driving an extra 3-5 miles to see the lake....I hope this helps.
Report Check-InBeen there with our motorbikes, spot n°12, very neat place, quiet and beautiful. Fire ban on, but previous travelers even left some logs, so nice. Very cool spot for one night or more if you want to hike in the forest.
Report Check-InLocated in Pike National Forest. Area with dispersed camping sites with fire rings. Most sites have parking on the side of the road. Site #11 has beautiful views, large parking area for multiple cars a bit farther away from the road and fire ring. No 4WD required. No water. No trash. Pit toilet and $10 day-use parking lot at the road entrance (Little Scraggy Trailhead). FREE!
Report Check-InGood camping, only the first ten or so have any phone signal on T-Mobile
Report Check-InSpecified and numbered dispersed camping sites. No facilities but fire rings at each designated and numbered free spots. Nice and Quiet, signs say bears are present. Didn’t see any animals myself.
Washboard in many spots along dirt road and flies were abundant and biting late September. Good for a night.
11 has great views, I stayed in 17 in valley, able to find flat part to park the van.
