Latest Check-Ins

Several van campers and one tent here now with plenty of room for more. Bathroom (vaults) clean and well stocked. No internet.

Report Check-In

Great spot large and quiet and toilets pits. No Verizon reception.

Arrived and left from the south road. Arriving from north might be possible but there seemed to be a tricky low water spot to cross so definitely better to arrive and leave from the south

Nice dirt lot. Deathly quiet and peaceful. 2 other campers overnight. Vault toilets, but must pack out trash.

Just a gravel lot but a great place to stay when getting either an early or late start into hiking in the Bisti area. There is not an official trail here so you can either wander and hope you find something cool or use an app like alltrails so you can follow "the blue dot" along what others have deemed a trail. We did a little bit of both but it was nice to have that dot because it would be very easy to get lost out there. We did not have a map downloaded prior to coming out but my phone had enough signal to see our blue dot on the map. Download the map before you get here if you really want to navigate. Don't let the parking lot deceive you, exploring this area is worth it and the farther away from the parking lot, the better it gets.

Good size lot. Shared with 5 other rigs overnight and everyone stayed to themselves. It was nice to wake up and be ready to hike the badlands.

Report Check-In

Road is gravel and some washboard. The parking lot is big and not a lot of people here. Badlands views are cool. There is a washed out road you can continue on to other sites if you have an off-road vehicle.

Report Check-In

Dark and raining. There is a toilet shack here now, have not been in it to report anything, but looks like standard BLM brick s house.

Report Check-In

small parking. next to bisti creek.

note: the bridge right north to the parking seems very weak and may give way any time.

the road from the south is better.

Report Check-In

Quiet place with no amenities.
A few other campers.

Report Check-In

Just a gravel parking lot at the trail head. Busier during the day, quiet at night. No amenities.

Good place for hiking into the cool rock formations of the Bisti Badlands. Not much of a camping space, but it's great for hiking! Very hot here in September. A couple of other people were here for hiking during the day, but nobody else was around at night. Very quiet.

Great place and the hikes are just amazing ! BUT be careful in case of rain : flash foods !! We were parked there and the water arrived so fast that we had just a few minutes to go back in the van and leave before the parking lot was full of water...
