Botswana
I have never stayed in such a beautiful place before. The campsite overlooks a lake and there are zebra, giraffe and lots of herbivores that come to the campsite for water. Well prepared food in the restaurant, also for dinner.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Very nice stopover, lovely campsites by the water, some impala, giraffes and lots of birds. 200ppn
Report Check-InBeautiful campsites.
Now have powerpoints in sites 1-3. Very weak network reception at sites.
Good ablution facilities with donkey for hot water.
Restaurant steak, pap & veg is absolutely next level.
P200pppn camping.
Wonderful place, we stayed 3 nights, 1 night at the campground and 2 at the chalet. We loved both, it was only due to the high temps did we go for the chalet with AC. Great service by Jabu and what made it even more special is our time with all the VanZyl’s! We had the best pizza and breakfasts ever ( breakfast was included w/Chalet)
Saw Giraffes, Impala, water Nick and Kudu all around the campsite and chalet. Highly recommend a few days of stay here to fully appreciate.
Campsites had electricity, water, grill and firewood all in the lapa. Clean ablutions with plenty of hot water and toilet paper. 200pula/night for campsite 1350pula/night for chalet and includes breakfast.
We stayed at Tantebane again on our way back down. Still the same great people, awesome views and relaxed vibe. They have renovated the camp blocks and all sites now have solar lights inside te building. Most of the place is solar powered and it does not have a inverter but you can charge at the reception.
We will definitely visit again when we are back in Botswana.
Report Check-InBeautiful place for camping at the edge of the dam, along the water! 150 pula/pppn. Very peaceful and quiet. Many birds. Nice lapa and braai with firewood provided. Good, hot donkey showers. Four campsites, we were on nr.4. The pizza in the restaurant was great! Would definitely come again. One to two blocks of Orange internet 3G signal at the campsites, so it’s slow but still functioning.
Report Check-InTentabane Campsite is beautiful. You get to set up right next to the dam, some 2-3km away from the reception. The ablutions are neat and regularly maintained.
Each individual shaded area has a solar light with foldable tent covers on the sides. You will have a kitchen platform, water, and sitting space in there. Attached to the hut is a space for braai and campfire. They give you sufficient wood.
Internet is not available on site, so you have to either drive or walk to the reception area.
The only downside I can point out about this campsite is the lack of CHARGING spots on site. Although the whole facility is connected to electricity, the campsites are not.
Also, watch out for snakes. We met 2 of them while walking to the reception. The staff also tells you about the existence of snakes. We walked back to campsite and didn't see any, but just be on the lookout.
We paid 15pp for camping. Here are some of their other rates for accommodation.
Chalet P 1350 B&B
Gamedrive P 140 pp
Standard rooms P 1150
Entrance fee P 50 pp
Meals P 80-210
They prefer booking beforehand as you will be given a gate key/pass to be able to access the facility. 071301887 or 073557753 or [email protected]
We highly recommend them, though. We had a very restful period during our stay
Report Check-InMost probably the most best kept overland secret in and around Francistown. Beautiful campsite on big dam edge. P150 per person with wonderful restaurant and excellent game viewing.
Report Check-In150ppn and take card. Private outdoor braai and indoor cooking area and sink. Communal showers and toilets. Called +267 248 8888 to let them know we were coming and they were very accommodating when we arrived late. Beautiful campsite by a dam.
Report Check-InAwesome campsite and chalets in a private game park, as mentioned in the reviews everyone is super friendly and they really want you to have a great stay. 30 minutes from the border with Zimbabwe and 30 minutes from Francistown.
We stayed for 4 nights because of the tranquility and abundance of animals on the park. Over 40 giraffe, loads of impala, waterbok, kudu and zebra can be seen and visit the camp regularly.
Recommend definitely!
Report Check-Ina wonderful place with lovely campsites at the dam. giraffes are visiting. the clubhouse has excellent food. the pizza is divine. each campsite has it's own roofed Lapa with braai and wash up area. spotless clean and absolut friendly staff. can highly recommend this place between Plumtree and Francistown. make sure you have airtime as you need to call at the gate. the veterinary people close ot the gate were so friendly to call on my behalf, as I did not have airtime.
Report Check-InStayed here after crossing the border. Place is still open and campsites are operational. Now 150 pula to camp.
Report Check-InServe fabulous steaks for dinner! I enjoyed the short 1km walk from the campsite as there was a real lot of giraffes, waterbucks and impala on the way. Water in the dam was ok, sunset great, very silent.
Report Check-InThe entrance to the Tantebane golfresort is next to the A1, the Clubhouse a few KM inside the park. Entry only with reservation. Call Jabu 71 301 887 or one of the other numbers at the gate. You can reserve on the spot and get the access code to the gate.
Apparently a lot can change in a year. The “lake” is now a small dam, due to lack of rain. The camping and part of the golfcourse turned into desert. Totally different from the first review. It’s all due to the weather circumstances and the low touristseason. Staff are very friendly and steakes in the restaurant are excellent.
In order to get to the campsite you need to have an access code at the entrance gate which is 5km away from the clubhouse. You need to have a working mobile phone to call the numbers shown on the panel at the gate. The campsite is very nice but the ablutions need some refurbishing
. There is no power. Each pitch have a private braai and covered eating place near the lake. Staff is very friendly, we got free firewood. The clubhouse and restaurant is at 1,5 km walking distance. We did not see any animals except cows and some impalas at the distance. If you like tranquility, highly recommended. We payed 90 pula pp. Free Wifi at the clubhouse is average
Great campground on the grounds of a private golf course. The people here are super friendly. The manager went out of his way to help us with bookings for Zimbabwe, just ask if you have any questions or need help.
