National Forest site along Mineral Creek
There are several campgrounds along this road run by the NFS. The ones before and after this one have pit toilets; thus they are more popular. This one has several spots along the creek all with fire rings. If you cross the little bridge there is also sites on the other side of the creek.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Several camping spots. Beautiful area with cooler temps than Durango in the summer. Other campers are close by and there are only a couple spots that have trees offering privacy but it’s still quiet (except for the sounds of the roaring creek). Peaceful night.
