Free gravel parking area along the beach. Used by locals to have some privacy in their cars, might get a bit noisy, especially on weekends. No sun in the afternoon, so a bit chilly. 10min walk into town.

Report Check-InWe spent a night here. No problem with the police. It's not really calm but okey for one night
Report Check-InLarge free carpark with easy access to lake beach. Was very busy with cars and locals, and several other campers present. Was not bothered at all other than slightly noisy overnight
Report Check-InThe police came to ask us to move, a decret for the town forbidden to rv to park for the night only. We spend one night for that.
Report Check-InNice place, just at the end of coastal area, just out of town.
Many overlanders staying there during the day and some remaining for the night. Stayed here a couple of nights without any problems. Nice views also.
Police drives around all the time. Around midnight one night they did ask us: where we were from, how long we are staying here and where are we going next and after answering they just said it's all good and wished us a good night.
Would recommend the place :)
* it's getting a bit trashy tho and lots of toilet paper lying around the beach, but this seems to be the case with all camp spots around here 🤷
Report Check-InNice, central place to stay in Puerto Varas. We put up our tent at the end beach, next to the parking lot, for one night. There was some music from across the river until 2, but overall is was quiet. Around midnight the police came to tell us it was not allowed to stay on the beach, but since it was late we decided to stay anyways and didn’t hear anything else about it. If you come with a tent, maybe walk a little bit further into the bushes so you’re not in plain sight.
Report Check-InPerfect place to visit Puerto Varas. We stayed right on the beach. Beautiful view on the Osorno vulcano. Postcardpictureperfect! Take earplugs if you don't like music in the night. (Hallelujah for those noisecanceling headphones!)
Report Check-InAs expected, some Chilens hang out in the evening in their car with music, but no one has bothered us. A guy from the parking told us that there was no problem to stay on the parking at night, but we could not get down on the beach (staying on the beach is apparently only allowed during the day).
Report Check-InGood free spot to stay, close by the center. Feels safe to parc and go into the center. Very loud music in the night untill 2.30.
Report Check-InGood place to stay a night or 2. busy in the evenings, nice and peaceful in the morning. Awesome views!
Report Check-InNice place, quiet at night even in high season for a city parking in the week. Really love the fact that people are testing their car dampers next to us.
Report Check-Infree parking spot close to restaurants. not so quiet, as a lot of cars come and go. okay for one night considering there's not much wild camping spots in Puerto varas.
Report Check-InWe slept in our tent at the end of the parking lot but in the morning a security guard car's arrived and wake us up but it was 8am so it's ok. I would suggest to go down to the end of the beach, there is a nice place to put a tent without be disturbed. In the morning we got tea and cakes from a chilian couple who also slept there, but in a car. Nice people :)
Report Check-InWhat a crowded spot! Cars coming and going all night long (with not one single hour of quietness) and we saw a lot of drugs dealing. As a woman there is literally no option to pee because there are people everywhere all the time, even in the middle of the night. Loud music (on a Tuesday evening!) and at 2.30am we had enough of it and moved. There aren’t many good spots for wild camping in Puerto Varas so it is like the only option you have, but if you want my advice: go park at the beginning of the parkinglot. Most of the drugs dealing and loud music happens at the end of the parking lot.
Report Check-InFree spot in front of the lake to park the vehicle. Flow of vehicles until 10-11 pm on weekdays. Might be more noisy and crowdy during the weekend. Spot exposed to a large public but good enough to spend a night.
Report Check-InNoisy on weekend, but okay for one night, really near to city, windy spot.
Report Check-InI stayed here 2 nights, camping. There was a few ioverlandes parked and I went until the end of the beach and set my tent there. Beautiful view and very quiet during the day and night in low season. On the second day, police come to tell me that wasnt allowed to camp there. They werent rude and just warned me, I told them the next day I would move to another place and they said it was ok! I went to see the spot to wild camp wich is next to it but it was VERY dirty and isolated. As I was alone I prefered to keep in the same spot and move to another city the next day. Good for wild camping one or two days but try to hide your tent as much as posible!
Report Check-InWe spent 3 nights there as we needed to have a good Internet signal (and it's perfect with Entel). The view on the volcanoes is incredible, especially during the sunrise. It can be windy but we managed to cook. Of course, we were not alone as a lot of locals come here (especially to smoke and put loud music on haha) but around midnight everyone is leaving.
Be careful if you want to leave your car during the day though, a security guy told me it is not really secure as you are a bit far from the centre.
We stayed here for 3 nights with other overlanders. Busy place during the day or even at night during the weekend but we felt save and had quiet nights. Very close to town. We enjoyed a really nice sunrise with great views over the lake and volcano osorno!
Report Check-InWe were there on a Thursday through Saturday evening. All were quiet except for an occasional car passing by or a dog yip. Dusty when cars drove by very fast. Fun watching windsurfers. Total cloud cover in mornings and total blue sky with great views of the mountains and volcanoes in the afternoons.
Report Check-InNice place for who wants to stay close to town. Please keep the space clean! I didn't have problem with noisy (maybe because rain a little at night).
Report Check-InAs described, nice central location. We stayed mid-week and it was absolutely fine for a night.
Report Check-InVery noisy. Was here on a Friday night and there was music playing till 3am. Some people also tried to open the doors of my van while I was sleeping. Wouldn’t recommend, but I don’t know a better spot in town.
Recomendamos
Easy access to any RV. Great circulation of local cars, but the movement did not bother us. Every night that we stayed there we checked the circulation of police (Carabineros). It seemed safe to us. We recommend
Report Check-InFree convenient option to camp in your rig. As mentioned by others, it gets busy during the day. Just a couple of minutes walk into town. Quieter at night.
Report Check-InIt's a beautiful view across the lake for sure. Pretty busy when we were here, cars coming and going throughout the night. Quite some tents camping at the beach, seems to be a popular place in summer.
Report Check-InRight beside town (3 min walk) and easily accessable for all sizes of vans. Flat ground just above or rocky beach below so take your choice. Not sheltered so can get windy. Lots of cars/people around so not quiet during the day but it is practically city center. We slept perfect every night though no worries.
Report Check-InEasy place to park. It's noisy...but it's nicely situated to the city, so that's the trade off.
Report Check-InEmpty on Tuesday evening. Lots of twinkly lights from the buildings across the lake.
Report Check-InNice spot to camp with pretty good view of the volcanos. But there was a dog barking like a maniac. So you will have to have some luck!
Report Check-InWe had a very quiet night spent camping on the beach on a Thursday. Great spot
Report Check-InWe parked along the road approx 200 meters before he gravel Park. It was a bit noisy as a Friday, some cars stopped by and listened to loud music at 2am. Apart from that it is a nice spot, not far from town and with a pleasant view.
Report Check-InWe parked there since we saw another van. The spot is nice, with an amazing view on the lake and the volcano. The town is not that far. It was a bit noisy between 23 and 1am and we got woken by a guy passing near our van with a music player around 6:30. Otherwise it was great and the night was quiet. We stayed there another night and it was even better since there was no noise at all ;-) It was during the weekdays though, and low season. I guess it can be very loud during weekend, since the spot is known from locals.
Report Check-InYada Yada close to town... We had a great quiet midweek night parked on the gravel towards the water. Nobody threw any rocks at us and the homies kept their bass down low, down low. Easy access. For a city spot 4 stars
Report Check-InIt was fine for a night, but as 'urban' as we can handle - it was so noisy all night (and we generally sleep really well at truckstops so that is saying something!). Great for the convenience of being in town, but we didn't like it.
Report Check-InA gravel lane extends beyond a popular mirador looking over the lake. You can sleep in your rig along the lane. We pulled down onto the rock beach and drove further away from the mirador for more privacy. Locals party here on weekends so it was a bit loud. But nobody came and bothered us.
Report Check-InStayed here for three nights. Can be a bit noisy on weekends, but overall pretty ok. Biggest downside: no sun in the afternoon, so gets chilly pretty quick.
Report Check-Inwe stood there 4 nights. Even during the week there are lots of "visitors" the whole night. Don´t go to the very end of the road. People from the house up on the hill threw stones at our roof - destroyed our solar panel. So better stay close to the street. Two weeks later we stood 2 nights directly in the street 200 meters before the gravel starts - better choice. And nobody complains about using 3 parkinglots with one motorhome.
Report Check-InDusty staying for the nightuntil late into the night modeno infrastructurefor free
Report Check-InRoadside parking along the dirt road along the lake shore (dead end), next to a bulldozed gravel parking (where tarmac ends, CCTV camera there), 10min walk into town.
