Latest Check-Ins

Stunning views of the red desert. We loved staying here although the toilets aren't great and the shower is a pipe from the ceiling with cold water. which is ok seeing that it was around 30 degree. Some tourist groups walk by every now and then, taking pics of the desert and of your set up. But all friendly and tranquillo. Paid 25000 per night, two people in a rooftop tent.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night, amazing view to the red valley and close to one observatory (which thay said is open, but wasn't that night, but according to reviews is working, so don't know what happened). Clean toilet, shower lukewarm from the sun. You can enter the bathroom via restaurant but there is a side gate which they said is open during a night. But after 21h the restaurant was closed and the side gate too! So, no toilet during the night. Paid 25000cop/2ppn.

Report Check-In

Best views you’ll have from a campground in Tatacoa. The guy who welcomed us said at first they charged 30000cop for 2 person but when I said I had friends paying 25 he said ok.
Cold shower and running toilet, clean. From here you can walk all the way in the valley and come out in front of the observatory.
Very nice cats and dogs at the campground

Report Check-In

Great view, clean toilets and showers (very tight though) Family who runs the place (restaurant and campsite/ cabanas) not very friendly or welcoming.
Can be very muddy when rains. We got stuck and besides the parking guy (who we asked to help) nobody came out to help.
Paid 25.000 for 2 persons and the van.

Report Check-In

Best place in Desertio de la Tatacoa to spend the night (legally), as it is just at the entrance to the red zone (Laberinto Cusco). You can camp with a great view.
The "patron" is not friendly at all and only interested in earning money and do nothing. Toilets not very clean, but ok.
Still, absolutely to recommend!

Report Check-In

We stayed for one night and felt safe. We paid 25'000 COP for two persons one night. The old man is still unfriendly. Pro: Your van is standing directly in front of the red dessert with a direct walking access. Clean toilets and showers. Con: A lot mosquitos.

Report Check-In

Old man on the gate was reluctant to let me in, arriv after dark. Full sized big rig, one person 10,000pppn.
Great view, excellent location, owners friendly enough, cafe.
Safe.

Report Check-In

Perfect place to stay in the desert with amazing views. Payed 8000.- per person, doesn’t matter if you are in a van or tent. Showers are not cold as the water is heated up during the day. Safe place, could sleep with all doors open.

Report Check-In

They ask 9.000pppn now. Baths are cleans. Water only 6 to 9pm and 6 to 9am. The eletricity (all city) is the sun, so air conditioning doesn't work. Nice overview.

Report Check-In

Best option to camp in the area. They have a nice view of the desert (others we visit don’t). Shower and toilets were ok. Paid 16.000 pesos for 2 people + Car.

Report Check-In

Super nice place! Great overview over the desert. No lights in the night at infrastructure and restaurant - bring your headlamp and enjoy the stars.

Report Check-In

Cold shower, toilets, no light at night so bring your headlamp. Area has midges and mosquitoes though not swarms of them. We paid 10k for both of us and our van. Start of red valley hike

Report Check-In

The view is amazing but the owner women is very unfriendly. The new price is 8000 pp.

Report Check-In

Nice photo zone for your rig setup. Shower and toilet available. Hella hot in daytime but cool breeze in the night.

Report Check-In

Parqueamos para pasar la noche allí, nos cobraron $7000 por persona (dormimos en nuestra van). Excelente vista al desierto y tranquilidad.

Report Check-In

Nice but very basic campground. The views are worth it. We could pitch our tent directly at the rim to the desert.
For the tent they charged 7000pp.

Report Check-In

Very basic camping with great views over the red desert. You can camp right at the edge of the canyon. Basic amenities were clean but very small. Cold shower. Charged 10'000 pp/pn. Restaurant was closed because we were the only guests.

Report Check-In

Sandy terrain with some trees and pinnacle for shadow with great view over the red rocks formations. Trail into the valley from the campground. Basic facilities. COP 14000 (2 adults, camper).

Report Check-In

Stay there on a Friday night, and no noise, no party at all! Perfect. Cold shower, toilet, beer a 2500pesos.
5000pp for camping. The only downside is the situation, everyone can enter and pass in the camping... we didn't feel comfortable to let the tent alone while people pass by all day.
Nice view and friendly owner. There are rooms too.

We stayed a night here. It's right on the Red desert and has a cool view of the little canyon. But this seems to be a big tourist spot and so there is a TON of foot traffic through the camping area, along with road traffic. We thought it would be a bit more off the road and away from people, but it's not. We stayed a night and then moved to Los Hoyos and we would highly recommend just stopping here and getting some pictures and then get deeper into the desert! Los hoyos was awesome

Report Check-In

For us the best place to stay. Parked direct at the canyon. Paid 5000 p.P. Like everybody described before: Basic, but o.k. looked at other places around:
Advertise "piscina" but not worth to go in...because of dirty or missing water.....but want more money. Dont miss a visit from the little Observatorium just at the other site of the road. We visited it thursday evening 7.30 pm. Paid10.000 p. P. Yes, it was bilingual !! nice evening , and we could see the ring of Saturn...!!!
Was the highlight from the tatacoa visit!

P.S....the campground had Water the whole day!!!! Other, more expansive places, didn't have had Water......

Report Check-In

In our opinion, this place has the best view into the desert. We were happy to pay the small camping fee!

Report Check-In

Stayed there at Saturday and can´t say we enjoyed it as it was painfuly loud. There was traffic (motorbikes, 3 big buses, some trucks) until 10 PM and three families from Bogota, which went to sleep around midnight only to resume shouting at 6 AM.

Our advice: go there only during weekdays and if you´re desperate for hotish water and toilets, otherwise wild camp at the desert.

Paid 5000 COP per person.

Report Check-In

5,000 per person per night. We were without water for 24 hours. It was repaired but not same day so toilets were icky in morning. The family left when no water so very quiet and no generator. First night generator until 10pm. Stellar view. Security for tent and motorcycle camping rated low as many come here and walk through property to enjoy view but owner not around so no one keeping an eye on things.

Report Check-In

Beautiful view over the Cañon de Cusco. We paid 8.000 COP/2 persons without use of sanitaries. Overnight still very hot, temperature didn't drop below 30 C!

Report Check-In

This is a combo restaurant and camping area with amazing views of the red desert. 6000 a person, totally worth it! Free camping options all over, but the view here was great.

Report Check-In

Overnight brilliant place overlooking the barren desert landscape. Toilets and showers available, otherwise no infrastructure. Everyone wants to visit Colombians's Camper. We then irgandwann times no and told privado .. from 20.00 clock at night it is very quiet. (The generator is turned off) COP 5000 -. / 2 nights without toilets + showers.
