This gravel parking lot is on the back side of the Pilatus mountain. The road to this place is paved but 1 lane, steep, with lots of blind corners and not maintained in winter. No problem with a Campervan but probably not fun to drive with anything much bigger.
Parking is relativly leveled and quite. Busy on weekends. It's at around 1200m elevation and you can hike all the way up to the top of Pilatus if snow permits. Beautiful views. This side is not touristy, mostly used by local hikers. There is a small mountain restaurat 10 min walking distance. Cell coverage at side is ok. gets spotty when you hike further up. I guess no one would be bothered if you pitch a tent here but it's not particular beautiful for tent camping. No aminitys. Natural water in form of streams and spring fed cow troughs close by.
