They did not issue comesa for our foreign (Czech) car, only the local insurance. We are still waiting for a refund of the comesa part, as they told us they cannot issue it two days later, when we came again.
It seems that there was some legislation change and they don't want to issue comesa to foreign cars, we ran into similar problem on the Kenya-Uganda border (four days later).
Got Kenyan third party insurance here, very friendly. Payable only in Mpesa. 1547 KES for one month.
