a wonderful place, with incredible days, we spent one night and before the end of the second night a woman appeared charging us to enter the beach in our vehicles, we clarified that it did not have a gate and there is a notice right at the entrance as a public place, without any type of notice. She claimed to be the owner and to be able to charge 5000 Chilean pesos for the campsite. Since she did not offer any service other than the place, we preferred to leave without reaching any agreement.

We stopped only to have lunch but could definitely see ourselves spend the night here. It really is a paradise, beautiful views over the lake, beautiful beach, nice spots for camping. Go as far left as you can with your vehicle for more tranquility.

Report Check-In

Excellent spot to set up camp. A few places are in the grass, all the others are in the sand. It was peaceful when I slept there for a night. Only downside: full of mosquitoes as soon as the sun sets.

Report Check-In

What others have said. Great place. Lots of local enjoying the place on the Saturday we were there.

Pro tip if you have 4wd. As you enter go left through where all of the campsites are. Go up and over a sand berm. Continue towards the lake through a rocky “road”. 4wd low, let it creep. You’ll see a little point where you can camp. It’s the photo of the white Land Cruiser. Lots of wood. Flat. Magnificent view. Enjoy….

Report Check-In

Really incredible view! The sites for the campers are tucked away into the bushes, so you don’t have a view from the site itself (but wind protection), but walk 3 metres and you’re on the rock beach. Kind of set up like a real campground with individual spots separated by some bushes, not super private. Nice weather we were able to jump in for a quick swim, not completely freezing cold. The road in is limiting, I’d say about 2.8 height and regular width. All worth it for the view! Take your TP with you please. Enjoy!

Report Check-In

Amazing place, also for swimming, big spots with fire pits. Only downside: lots and lots of horse flies!

Report Check-In

Really nice place. Many shielded private places with a fire pit. Quiet and safe at night. A 4x4 is recommended because we got stuck in the sand when we want to get back on the road. A nice Chilean man and his five stars off-road driving skills helped us out.

Report Check-In

Really amazing beach spot. drove across the water to get a private area

Report Check-In

Stunning place, unable to get our 4x4 with camper box in as a small tree has lent over the entrance and didn’t have time to try and sort it. All cars would be fine to go through but not big rigs without trimming the branch.

Report Check-In

still a great spot. the lady from the neighbor place came in the evening and told us if we want to stay overnight we have to pay 10.000 CLP per vehicle! payed 5.000 CLP solo motorbike rider with tent. some road noise and a few Mosquios. nice beach, lake perfect for a bath.

Report Check-In

Nice place, beautiful views. Although the beach is visible from the road. Some spaces behind, semi-hidden, there were at least 3 other vans and more coming, we went further south as it was too crowded. It is nice, but not thaat nice to be so popular.

Report Check-In

the hype is real. this place is incredible. one other camper showed up after dark. no one came by to ask for money, but it was raining pretty much the whole time. I would have happily paid to stay as the view was really stunning. 2 nice dogs came by, presumably from the neighbors house. very friendly. no trash at all. the entrance is a little overgrown so your going to be touching the roof and the sides for big rigs, but nothing to bad, mostly soft branches and bamboo. we are 2.8m high and I'd say safe to go in up to 3.0m at least. l

Report Check-In

Beautiful camping site. No one came to ask us to pay. The gate on the right of the road was open.
Very calm, an incredible view of the mountains bursting out of the Lago Yelcho.
A few spots for tents and even camper/truck.

Report Check-In

Amazing spot, has everything: plenty of space, flat grassy areas for tents, space for campers, sandy beach, lakefront. Only caveat is that you may risk a neighbor lady coming over in the morning and demanding you pay for the spot. We were here a few weeks ago to check it out and there was a family that was there the whole weekend, and they said the lady said it was fine to camp, just that their fire was too big. We paid up, but just be aware. Would be an 11/10 spot without that

Report Check-In

It’s indeed a paradise, 8 was the only one there for the night, in the morning some guys come put their kayaks on the water and that’s all.

The gate was close but without lock.

Report Check-In

Still a beautiful place, have been here the 2. time in our way Back from ARG because of border hopping. Road is bad because of a lot potholes.

Report Check-In

Nice spot for the night! Stunning view over the lake and the Mountains. Some Traffic in daytime, non at night. No Entel or Claro signal

Report Check-In

Low season check-in, gate closed but not locked, sign inside saying to keep it locked. I was the only one there, incredible site, protected from the wind.

Report Check-In

Lake side with beautiful view over the lake and mountains. You can easily enter the beach (gate next to the road) and have a swim in the lake. The only thing it’s next to the road, so you are visible. In the evening some cars but in the night and morning quiet. If you have a tent you can probably better stay at the beach, next to this place.

Report Check-In

Absolutely beautiful! This place is gorgeous <3 We picked up a lot trash, some locals came for a family picnic, saw us and thanked us. They gifted us some cannabis in exchange for our good deed!

Report Check-In

Indeed a very nice spot! Not just for tents, but vans also. When we arrived here, the gate was open and there was plenty of people (locals) enjoying the campsites. They all left before dark.

Report Check-In

Not suitable for motorhomes, we couldn't even see a track let alone fit down it.

Report Check-In

Really cool place, the 5000 pesos for 2p and a car was well worth it. The lady was there in the evening when we rolled in.

Report Check-In

Amazing campsite by the lake on a beautiful beach! There is a gate to access, just make sure to close it after you enter. Free campsite. Do not leave any trash !

Report Check-In

Straight out of heaven. Humbling view. Plenty of places where to lay a tent. No one came to charge a fee. (well access to beaches are all free in Chile says legislation). Totally hidden from the road once you enter when following the path to the left.

Report Check-In

It’s true. This is paradise. The gate was closed, but not locked. No one came around to collect a fee from us. Had the place to ourselves.

Report Check-In

Beach paradise indeed. Although the gate seemed locked so we cycled about 100m’s on and found a little pathway down to the beach. We locked the bikes up to a tree and took the panniers down to the beach. A breathtaking view after a 92km cycle (the last 15km in pretty bad roads). We just camped on the beach! There were a couple of cars who obviously got through the locked gate after us. The sun was shining, a dip in the lake & a view of the mountains. Heaven!

Report Check-In

Really nice beach indeed. To get here, we had to open a gate (and close it behind us). The track leading down is quite narrow, our Land Cruiser with roof tent barely fit through. Now we have some new scratches along the sides...

After we set up, built a fire, had a few beers (for the sake of Christmas Eve), a lady shows up asking for 5000 CLP (two people, one car). A bit expensive for a campsite without baths, water or garbage disposal.

We paid and stayed - it's a beautiful beach after all.

Report Check-In

Please note that the gate is not locked anymore.

Report Check-In

I agree. A paradise... Especially on a sunny day.No garbage. Please let it remain so...

Report Check-In

There are several places to mount tent and space to make fire, with a dry wood burning. Beatiful visual too. It has to ask for permission to the owners who are nearby, charge 2000 pesos.

Report Check-In

One of our best wild camping spot so far ! The view is absolutely amazing at night and in the morning. Lots of possibility to camp along the beach. There is some wood "benches" to sit around the fire.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place to stay for a night or two. Found it hard to hitchhike out of here so this place was a haven

Report Check-In

On a sunny day, it really is a paradise! A sandy beach, clear water and view on snowy peaks...
To get there, use the small track through the bushes 50m south of the locked gate. This way obviously, only for bikes...
The beach can be seen from the road when you're coming from the south, so you can't miss it!

Report Check-In

Cyclist - Gate was closed and locked, but we could get in through the beach, like 50 meters east by the road. We were 8 cyclists in 5 tents, and there was plenty room for more.
Some of us could pass the bicycles over the closed gate.
Great spot!

Report Check-In

The entrance gate was closed and locked....

Report Check-In

great quiet campspot at the beach of the lake, many firepits, great mountain view.

Report Check-In

After you ride alongside the lake, the highway stays on the leftside. Right when you reach the street sign, Lago Yelcho, there is a gate down to the lake. It was locked, but we went around and there is a nice little campsite on the shore. There was some trash around, but in all, a nice secluded spot hidden from the road.
