Fabulous stay. We stayed for five nights, met the owners Stefan and Mariam, delightful hosts and very entertaining. Kind, generous and very hospitable.

Report Check-In

Large and lovely property with a pretty leveled camping area. Clean ablutions. Second ablution building and open-air kitchen and sitting area almost finished. Friendly welcoming staff. 40k UGX ppn. Had breakfast for 20k pp in the restaurant since it was pouring. Good place even for a longer stop.

Report Check-In

Good stop over in Fort Portal. A little way out from the town but set on beautiful grounds. Worth the drive out. Solar showers. Nice restaurant food was great. $10 pppn. Grass camping which is always a win. Electricity at sites with an extension.

Report Check-In

We stayed twice at this place on our Uganda trip - three nights each stay. It is a marvelous place on a "living" farm with a spectacular garden and a rainforest with Colobus Monkeys. The rainforst you can experience on your own or on a guided tour with one of their staff.

We stayed on the campground with two vans: one Roof top tent and one campervan. The Campground has a perfect layout and is levelled. The ablutions with toilet and hot showers are very clean. There are two sink to clean the dishes, two large covered shelters to sit when the sun is shining or when it is raining - both with powerpoints.
At our visits its was quite in the night and the place is securely guarded by night guards.
The owners, Stefan and Mariam Kluge, are caring and warmharted hosts. These two and their staff are extremely supportive and helpful. They booked for us a chimpanzee trekking in the Kibale Forest NP and a guided hike in the crater lake area.
The restaurant offers very good food at reasonable prices.
We enjoyed the stay a lot; sitting at the bonfire with a cold beer, facing the Rwenzori Mountains was just amazing.

Report Check-In

Good value for money as charged standard US$10pppn and the lodge has high quality facilities. Hot showers, swimming pool, they even managed to wash and dry our laundry despite the clouds.
We were the only ones camping, slightly weird vibes with some armed police officers sitting by the campsite singing loudly for a few hours after dark and some wild dogs rummaging around at night.

Report Check-In

Lovely place to stay for a few nights. Description of others is accurate.
Good place to vase oneself to do various activities such as Bigodi Wetlands or Kibale NP. Note that the village roads around Kluges require time to negotiate but not bad.
Good security provided by Ugandan Army troops. Friendly owner and helpful and professional staff.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite near Fort Portal, clean ablutions and hot showers. Garden is great for walking, pool, playground, restaurant and bar.

Late breakfast (9:30) was bad and expensive but it was also late and they did try.

Restaurant food was good but nothing special.

Report Check-In

Good campsite with decent facilities but the campgrounds are pretty small and you’ll struggle if more than 2 campers. Laundry services, restaurant and a Kitchen area with electricity available. The location is about 25 minutes from the tarmac road so just factor that in your planning. Friendly owner!

Report Check-In

What a super campsite and lodge. Beautiful setting, amazing gardens, swimming pool, well priced restaurant with good choices and lovely food. Super ablutions. 40000 ush pppn. WiFi at the bar/restaurant. Sink and water pipe and covered dining/cooking area. Firepit too.

Report Check-In

Lovely oasis of gardens, pool, restaurant, forest walks and plenty of birdlife. As previous comments. We enjoyed Kluges for 3 nights. Camping now USh40,000 pppn.

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite with everything you need: hot showers, toilets, a covered area for cooking and chilling, power - a perfect spot to spend some days.
There is also a restaurant and a pool and you can do a forest walk on their premises.
We really enjoyed it here and the food was very nice as well.

Report Check-In

Pretty small campsite and it’s quite a long way from the restaurant. Ablutions ok, mostly solar powered hot shower, the other day shower was only lukewarm as there wasn’t much sun. Good kitchen block under roof. $10/pppn. You can buy freshly baked brown bread here, too (8000 UGX).
Nice for a night or two. But if there’d be an overlanding truck, the campsite would be really cramped.

Report Check-In

Great campsite! Good facilities!

Swimming pool could be more clean but was oke. They provide towels, which is nice.
Internet speed was fine, since it was quit I think.

Recommend this place!

Be aware in rainy season that the road can be challenging... Tyre pressure and low gear, but it's fun.

Report Check-In

Lovely green farm with nice rooms, pool, children’s playground and good sized portions of good food. Room is 250000 ush with breakfast buffet. View of mountains, kolobos monkeys and variety of birds.

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite, all facilities very well maintained and spotlessly clean.

Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Nice pool.

Big rig friendly, although be prepared for several kilometres of rough and narrow roads to get here. We entered from main road here 0.586247, 30.208752, but there are other ways in. Our route in was big rig friendly.

The free WiFi is intermittent. Airtel reception is good.

Friendly and efficient staff.

We stayed 4 nights. We were the
only guests (Covid). Paid $10 pppn, which we thought to be good value compared to what you get at other places for this amount.

Recommended.

It is surely very groomed and manicured and for long term overlanders a good place to do washing, eat an european meal if you like and have a hot shower. Extremely well organized and facilities are european as the owners are obviously German including some great homemade salami, beef bacon and mango jam, worth the steep prices!

Report Check-In

USD10 pppn own tent camping, our 2 year old free. Great facilities and service is excellent! WiFi is very slow with large groups of people at the restaurant so having ones own mobile data is handy. Was advised to boil the water before consuming. Very peaceful stay and the pool is great!

Report Check-In

Camping 35.000pppn, flat grass space with clean toilets and hot shower. Some shelter with kitchen. Last part of road is muddy so be carefull when raining. Good restaurant and bar.

Report Check-In

All as described. Beautiful gardens. Even with overlanders coming and going we always had hot water. Nice forest walk at no charge, unguided. People very friendly and helpful. We had to change oil and the owner offered the use of his workshop/tools.

Report Check-In

nice clean well organized. 35000Ush pp. meals around 20000Ush. Shelter in case of rain. Quite busy when we were there with an overland truck and 16 campers occupying the flatest grounds

Report Check-In

Highly recommended. Camping $10pppn, half price for kids. Robert was a great guide.

Report Check-In

This is a wonderful place to camp. Plenty of room for trucks. A great restaurant if you don’t feel like cooking and excellent spotlessly clean ablutions. There is a dishwashing area. We put our tent up under shelter which was good as there was an epic thunder and rain storm. This 72 acre property is immaculate. We paid $10 per person per night. It’s easy to explore the area using this as a base. We visited the calderas, found a road through part of Kibale Forest and saw Red Colobus and then driving home on the main road through the forest a whole family of chimps crossed the road. Kluges is very quiet and private and a good place to escape the hustle of Africa if you need.

$10 pppn for camping.
European Standards, good ablutions with hot showers. Shelter and electricity at campsite. Nice pool and forest walk around the site. WiFi at bar, very quick. Very friendly staff and owner, who can give good onward travel advice. Restaurant was very good, great German food Sauerbraten and Rouladen, if you know you know. Good value too. Well worth spending a few days here! Also just added a sink for washing up etc. on campsite.

Report Check-In

Really lovely place with spacious campsite, lush grounds and lovely pool. No fire/Bbqs at campsite but covered area to cook and sit (it really raned while we were there). Place kept very clean by incredibly lovely staff. Their guide, Robert, was ridiculously helpful - making calls and bookings for us, drawing maps etc. They also sell eggs, delicious bread, home-cured meats etc. Only slightly sour note for us was that the staff seemed a bit terrified of the owner so hope they're getting a good deal as they were excellent!

Report Check-In

Everything as below, a must do! A birders paradise, beautiful walks in the surrounding forest. Off season rate is USD10pppn camping.

Report Check-In

Beautiful setting with lovely gardens. Camping facilities are super with running water, hot water, showers, toilets that fully flush, sheltered area in case of rain. I highly recommend.

Gypsy Palace
Beautiful well kept level grass campsites. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Ablutions spotless with hot water showers. Gardens and restaurant a real treat. They also supply chalets and tents. A magnificent tropical forest full of birds on the property. They have a large bird list and Robert is an excellent birder/guide. Definitely gets full mark rating and we extended our stay by an extra day!

Kluges Guest Farm is besides the Haven in Jinja the nicest campsite we have had in Africa so far. Stefan and his wife are really hospitable! We saw a lot of black and white colobus monkeys and different birds around. Staff is really friendly and the buffet dinner was very delicious! Had a great time! Still 30.000 for camping and 15$ for dinner!

Report Check-In

Perfect location, very green, like a recreation center in Europe and friendly staff. We stayed in our own tent for 30.000 shillings pppn. Had dinner (buffet) for 50.000 shillings pp. They even made special vegetarian curry for us, +1.

Report Check-In

Nice Campsite, everything as described before. Access dirt road is small, but in good condition, a bit slippery when wet. Very friendly staff and owner.

Report Check-In

Very nice campsite. 30.000 pp Very good food from the own farm. Friendly owners

Report Check-In

We spend almost a week at this Campsite because we enjoyed it that much. There are a lot of interesting things to explore in this area e.g. Fort Portal or the Krater Lakes. It is a big leveled and grassy campsite with big shelters against the rain. Ablutions are very clean with hot showers. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is awesome. We totally recommend to join a buffet dinner night.

Friendly staff, clean ablution block with hot shower. Campsite is spacy and leveled. Restaurant with wifi and pool. Prices are bit higher than other places but it's worth here.

Guestfarm with campsite (also used by some overlander trucks). Nice grounds and facilities, including restaurant, bar and swimming pool.
They charge camping $15,-pppn or $40,-pppn for a tent including breakfast for non residents. Even though the place looked nice we negotiated the residents price for our stay; UGX30.000pppn for camping or UGX60.000pppn for a tent and breakfast. The restaurant serves B,L,D (buffet and a la carte).
