We can not recommend this place.
You need over 1 hour from the Magic Bus on a washboard road. The first part is fine and you can drive fast, after the short stretch it s washboard. With our Fiat Ducato 2WD Motorhome it was boring to drive this road. Max 30km/h and everything was shaking.
The Entrance is 10.000 CLP for adults and 5000 CLP for Kids. The „7 Lagoons“ are very small and some has less water. Its more a pool then a lagoon. You can swim only in lagoon 7 for max 20min. The walk between the lagoons are only 10 minutes. Its sounds bigger as it is.
The floating is funny, but after this you are full with heavy salt. The new outside showers has no water. Luckily we have it in our RV. The Tour Busses use water tanks for the customer. Its nice to see but for us it was to expensive (25000 CLP) and we stay only 1 hour.

Report Check-In

Even though it says „closed 13.30-14.30“ - it was open (been there around that time). No other tour there, we had the pool for us. A lot of tours arrived again around 15.00, when we left.

Report Check-In

The road is in relatively good condition right now but of course washboard.

Report Check-In

Outdoor Showers and changing rooms are being build at the moment and are looking good.

Price still 10000/p, CC or cash. Only the first lagoon is and will be opened for swimming, as the last one, where you could swim before, is now polluted with mineral dirt (they told us it’s after a small earthquake they had in Jan) - you can see that the water is opaque. We arrived around 11-12, there were 3 tour buses getting ready for the swim and the tour guides were also preparing lunch for clients on site (there s a small picnic area next to the first lake). By the time we did the walk, go and forth, everyone was packing or gone. So from 14 to 15 we had lunch and also a perfect swim totally alone, which was amazing. After 15, new tour buses started to arrive and suddenly there were again 15people in the water :) It s nice anyway, but more magical if you can enjoy it alone. No drones/alcohol/pets allowed and you should apply sunblock only to your face, not the whole body, before entering the water.

Now you can pay with cards also. 10k clp. Only 1 Lagoon is open for swimming (1st). Anyway it's nice. Tours coming before closing. I've been there around midday and it was fine. Morning will be cold but not sure about tours. I'm here for 2nd time and still it's nice.

Report Check-In

The road is terrible, take out some air from your tires that could help, visiting the pools are great, swim is amazing. They just accept cash, no credit 😉

Report Check-In

We were told the hours are 9:30-5pm… learned that the hard way when we arrived at 5:20pm and denied access. We camped outside the gate and when we woke the next morning, the gate was still closed. Not sure the hours of operation are a given here…

Eight tour groups were parked outside the gate by 10am. We hid in our van and closed the curtains every time someone came to change or pee behind us...

The gate finally opened at 11am. With the influx of people and determination to complete what we set out to do, we hesitantly decided to go. The lagunas are small and a pretty blue, but the views aren’t great. It’s cool to float in natural pools vs a sensory deprivation tank, but I don’t think it’s a “must see.”

With all things considered (road condition, price, hours): If you love to float, go. If you come for the pretty lagunas, perhaps seek elsewhere. If you’re indifferent, but see it’s something to do near San Pedro, I’d recommend to skip.

10.000 pp / 5.000 pp with student ID

Special place, nice to swim in the salty but very cold lagoon. No shower available so it’s good to bring your own water to have a shower. A bit strange, at the tourist information they told us it will be open at 9am but there was nobody there untill 10am. It’s nice to be one of the first so you have the lagoons for yourself.
The road has some bad spots and is bumpy but we think not as bad as described before.
We do think it is a bit overpriced, like most things are around San Pedro..

Report Check-In

Even if it was freezing cold in the morning, we enjoyed the experience of swimming in the salty lagoon. Unfortunately, when you come at the opening (9am), you are not alone for a long time… People arrive quickly with the tour bus.
Student price: 5000clp pp
Road very fine to get here from San Pedro.

Report Check-In

10.000 pp now. You can float in two lagoons, which is quite nice. However, given the fact that the showers are closed due to covid and the road to get here is hell, I don’t think it’s worth it, all in all.

Report Check-In

The laguna is still closed at the moment.

Report Check-In

the road is really bad, multiple parts of our camper fell off or broke.

beautiful lakes though and fun to swim in!

did not accept university IDs, everyone over 18 pays 5000 clp

Report Check-In

Great place. 7 lagoons, can swim in the first and last.
Long drive - 35km down a gravel road, but wasn’t a problem in our 2wd. Took us about an hour from the start of the gravel road going a moderate speed.

We are arrived at 16:30. Showers close at 17:15 (you will want to use these after being in the salty pools). Park closes at 18:00.

20 mins walk from first to last pool.

5.000 pp

Report Check-In

It is an annoying road, but it’s worth it! We made it with our 2wd drive van. All cars can go, it’ll be slow though lol. 5,000pp. We got there at 5:30, and it closes at 6pm and were told we couldn’t camp there. They said we could go to the entrance and camp on the road. Lol so we did that. Hours 9-6.

Report Check-In

Can confirm - great place! The road has been repaired and it's now totally fine for a 2WD. Just have to watch out for occasional big stones.

Report Check-In

Great place, terrible road. Relentless washboard for around 40km.

Report Check-In

The lagunas are beautiful. But: Only go if you have a spare tire.

We've been to the lagunas twice, first time we had a flat tire ourselves. Second time, we came along two other cars on the road, each one having a flat tire. The road isn't only bad, it's horrible (waaay worse than going to the Geisirs) and goes on for 45 kilometers of washboard with a lot of very pointy stones. So if you go make sure to have all the gear necessary to change a tire and ideally make sure not to have to much pressure on the tires before going anyways. If you have a 4x4 with good terrain tires you should be fine. Otherwise think about taking one of the tours, if you're lucky they'll even include food.

That being said the lagunas are really beautiful, bright blue in a landscape of white, icy salt. I'll see to add some photos to my website. If you get there early you'll almost be by yourself, so you can swim and enjoy the weightless feeling in the last laguna on your own. The updrift is really strong, you can literally float without having to move a muscle. So that's nice.

We came at 7pm and asked to camp here. They were (surprise for Chile) very very rude and unfriendly. They said 'No' and it was over. The night was about to come and it was impossible for us to go back to San Pedro. After 18 months travelling it's the first time we had such an experience.

Report Check-In

Entrance fee 5.000 CLP per person. Showers and toilets are at the entrance. Visitors are being asked to keep the shower time to a minimum, since you are in the middle of a desert. You can swim in the first and last of the seven lagoons. Tour buses from San Pedro arrive about 16:00 and leave around 18:00. A visit before the tour buses arrive ist recommended.

Report Check-In

All is still the same. Agree with the road sucks. Only thing to add is that you cannot shower with soap and shampoo. We stayed for about two hours which included walking, swimming, eating lunch, and showering. The pools were really interesting.

Report Check-In

this place is awesome and so much more worth a visit then laguna cejar wich is so expensive! the cost are 5000 but if you are student it cost you 3000 pesos. just show any card with your name and photo on it. I used my public transport card from Holland. definitely going to try to get discount this way at other places.

toilets and showers are super clean.
we had a swim in the first lagoon. very cold in aug 2017 but worth it! trick is to get in as flat as possible cuz the water is really cold when you get in deep.

the road from to here is all washboard for 45km but we found it really oke. when you travell between 70 to 90 kms its really fine.

all 7 lagoons are beautifull!!!

Report Check-In

Much preferred these lakes to the more expensive Lake Cejar. Beautiful walk through the 7 lakes, and was very cool to float in the natural salt pool. Lovely view of the mountains. 2min shower was nice and clean. 5,000p pp (incl bathrooms / shower). Quite long on bumpy dirt road but we managed with 2wd.

Report Check-In

Nice spot to relax near this lagoon. Be aware that the water contains a lot of sold. Fun part is that you can float on it. At 4pm all tourist cars will come, so you better leave before. Entrance is 5.000p p.p. You can shower two minutes when leaving.

7 lagoons in the row. can swim in the first and last
