Namibia
Very nice campground surrounded by Tiras mountains. Open view to west. Wonderful sundown. Many big trees. Very nice site (5 stars) with basic comfort. About 6-8 braais. No electricity at all. Candlelight in the ablution. Warm water with wood fire. The lodge is 12km away from D707 and the campsite about 3km from the lodge.
Free WiFi available at the lodge with reasonable speed.
The price is now 190 N$/p.P.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
200pppn, also for small kids.
so it's 800 per night for a family with two kids?! maybe they don't like kids.
we asked via E-Mail about the price and they said that they would make a exception (100 per child). we did not reach this place because our tyre got destroyed and we went back for a new spare, but I did not feel welcome on that campsite.
One of our favorite areas, without repeating too much, well spaced campsites at the foot of mountain, well maintained. the wind can blow hard here at night so there's a communal boma next to the toilet which are a little small if the 5 campsites are full! we stayed 3 nights, it's a beautiful reserve, and nightly visits from foxes is to be expected 200 p/p/p/n
Report Check-InThis place is open!!!
Very beautiful as described, still 200NAM$pppn
Wood available at reception.
Highly recommended.
As said before a great place to stay. We had to pay 200pppn
Report Check-InEach camper gets his own Camelthorn tree to camp under. The downside of that is that it can get pretty long trek to the bathrooms depending which tree you get. Otherwise immaculate destination with some hiking options as well. We paid N$200-00 pppn.
Report Check-InBeautiful campsite, the sun isn’t at the campsite before 8.30 am, because of the mountains. Had a nice jog on the roads where you’re not allowed to drive. By check-in we got the last firewood they had. Hopefully they will fill up. They don’t serve any food or drink to campers, only to the lodge people. We found that a bit strange, the manager said it was because of difficult supply. Clean ablutions, solar heated water, no electricity.
Report Check-InWow, this truly is a special place. Only 5 campsites but incredibly spaced out and private. We were lucky and got the last site tonight. Highly recommend 5 star all the way! Shower washrooms clean and solar hot water. Use in the day or evening for best results. Cools overnight. 200 N$ pppn.
Report Check-InAmazing remote and quite camping site with endless views. Each cite is under a shaded tree with build in braai spot. Shared ablutions & scullery that are spotless clean. 4/5 single stands and one stand suitable for a group of 3/4 camping setups available. If you are looking for a remote, quite place for just your thoughts and views to keep you company, this is the spot!
Will definitely be back!
What a gem of a place, large camping sites that are far apart. Excellent maintenance with eye for detail. Hot water, really means hot water! Please be sensible and buy your wood at the reception and leave nature as unspoilt as it is.
Report Check-InBeautiful open grassland with shade trees, braai and ablusions. Sites are far apart.
No mains power. Showers were hot, clean ablusions with running water. The Vista were spectacular and the grassland green and knee high after the recent rain to break a 9 year drought. Highly recommended.
Report Check-InGreat location with hiking and vast views. Clean ablutions with hot water, nice size camp spots and even some secret pools of water (only during the rains).
Report Check-In5 spacious campsites each with braai. Water (drinkable) and clean ablution in a shared building. Incredible sunset and star gazing. We enjoyed it very much.
200 pppn / firewood is 50 for a bag.
For the third time at the campsite of the Namtib Lodge. The landscape, sunsets and the starry sky are enchanting. This time we stayed 7 nights over Christmas. During this time we have missed a certain amount of hospitality and attention.
Report Check-InNice, big campsites (enough for 2 or more campers).
Some trees for shade and braai area, amazing views. Walking and mountain bike trails.
We paid NAD200 ppn
Had an awesome fullmoon night with no wind!
Don’t miss out to get some of their game meat / boerewors and spätzle.
Price: N$200pppn.
Nice campsites with beautiful views over the valley and of the mountains, each site has their own braai. Can be quite windy (even with the few trees). Showers were warm (solar-powered), no electricity. Western-flushing toilets. Washing up area and recycling.
Report Check-InPricing still 190pp/pn.
Solar showers.
Awesome place, lots of shade. Beautiful views and nice hike around (as long as you want basically).
One thing is there aren't many sites available so try check if there's space before arriving
6 or 7 nice and spacious campsites each of them with a Akazia tree and a brai in a beautiful valley surrounded by the Tiras mountains 12 km from D707 in a good sandy track. Good and clean restrooms with hot showers. The surrounding is very nice but the rock formations are more beautiful at Tiras Camping. Extremly windy at night. No MTC Signal. 190 NAD p.P.
Report Check-InNamtib is a must visit campsite. The view from the camp is remarkable! The showers are hot and ablutions are clean.
Report Check-InEverything said about surroundings. Just to add once more: Lynn and Thorsten are lovely hosts.
Rate for camping is now 190 N$ p.P.
Firewood: 50 N$
Campsite is beautifully located with sunset view to the plain and the surrounding mountains. Acacia trees on each site provide natural shade. Ablutions are clean and showers are solar heated. The owners sell fire wood, braai meat and Spätzle. We hiked the 16 km hiking trail from the main building (3 km away from camp) and liked it very much. Thorsten, the owner, is very mountainbike enthusiastic and can show some trails. Highly recommended!
Report Check-InWe really loved this campsite. You can camp under a big three and there is one communal ablution block, basic but clean and hot water from the solar panel. The views are amazing, specially when the sun sets. We wanted to stay two nights but unfortunately we were unlucky with a lot of wind at night and in the morning... definitely recommend this place!
Report Check-InVery wide and beautiful campsites. Shade by the trees. Very nice facilities and a new windshelter. No electricity but hot water.
Amazing view into the desert almost up to the sand dunes.
Very recommended.
One of the best spots for a campsite so far for us in Namibia!
Big campsites in very nice location, overlooking a beautiful valley. Very clean abolution block with solar powered hot water. No MTC reception and no firewood around, so bring firewood or buy at the farm.
Everything as described. Certainly one if the most beautiful campsites in Namibia. We didn't prebook but just went there, asked and were lucky to get a site. Now 170 NAD/PP
Report Check-InGreat experience: just a few camping spots (each with braai area) one shared ablution block (neat, without electricity) and nothing else, except silence, a beautiful open view facing the sunset and lots of stars. I think we paid NAD140 pppn. Bargain for such a special night.
Report Check-InThere is a notice now at the entrance that rooms, camping are available only on the basis of pre-booking.
Report Check-InWas unfortunately full when we went there, but it looks like a really lovely place to stay with nice restaurant and terrace at the lodge, great views at the campsites
