Something not right?

Description

Quiet spot in the forest.
Found this place on freecampsites.net.
There were also other people with tents there when we came.

Comment: the road is quite steep so didn't make it with our packed campervan 2wheel drive. Maybe not recommended on wet days.

Latest Check-Ins

A collection of spots in the woods near powerlines. Unsure who or what owns this land. As soon as you turn on to Blue Lake road from Ash Lake road, it's like driving up a bumpy cliff. Probably the scariest section of road I've ever gone up. We popped a tie down on our truck camper.

At least 3 permanent residents here. A cool looking camp spot has a boulder in the road leading towards it, so unsure what that's all about. Shooting spot nearby.

Report Check-In

People live here, but the one that drove past was friendly and warned us of bears at the top of the mountain. Teepee guy chopped wood late in the evening. I probably wouldn't stay here again. Do have cell! I did feel safe.

Report Check-In

Stayed in the wooded pull-off to the right just after the double power line crossing / clearing - has several fire rings and is pretty well sheltered from the wind (I had already checked out some areas under the power lines but they had sustained 20+mph wind). There are a couple of semi-permanent RV and teepee setups within 100 feet of here; don’t mind them.

Report Check-In

The spots lower down were taken, we ended up further up on a side road. Quiet, at a turnaround at a gate leading to the power line access road. (45.6799033, -121.9372378)

There are a lot of spots to camp here and several spots you can even tent camp. I found the road conditions to be great. I came in on a Friday afternoon and there was no one else here by early evening there were 4 others staying nearby. But there is plenty of space.

There is a lot of trash laying around. Please be respectful and leave no trace. If you arrive at a spot full of trash, pack it out even if it's not yours to leave it better than you found it. I packed out a couple of bags full of trash and I know there is a lot more in this area.

Report Check-In

Ok spot to camp.
gravel pit at the end of the road where people like to shoot.
couple cars rolling down the road late at night.
bit of trash scattered about.
wasn't the best spot. wasn't the worst.

Report Check-In

Tons of dispersed camping up here. Also, tons of trash. Just walked around a single site and picked up enough trash to fill an entire grocery bag. Maybe others can try to help clean this place up (or at the very least, not add to the trash problem)?

Report Check-In

Several sites off the side road, also a cozy spot down below, to the left as you are facing up the side road. Some trash, not too bad.

Report Check-In

Amazing place with many open campsites. This place looks to be a power line access road and has many tall pines and built up fire pits on site. It was very quite and secluded.

Report Check-In

Garbage due to locals, but can find some good places to camp.
