Description

ADMIN NOTE: No overnight camping allowed, please respect the wishes of the locals.

Beautiful free beach spots.
Maximum 1 day, but we staied 2 days without any problems.

I recommend to visit Shore Acres and Cape Arago State Parks (around 10km west direction). They are very nice and you can see Sea Lions.

Since 05/01 only day use because of all the trash and the longterm-stays...thanks guys...

Report Check-In

not a overnight place anymore. since May 1st it is a day use area due to neighbors complaining about noise and rubbish.

Stayed 1 night - the land is owned by BLM and there's a sign saying "24 hour Stay Limit" - very quiet and beautiful :) There's an official campground just up the hill if you're in desperate need of a restroom!

Free 24hr parking along the beach at multiple sites. Beautiful beach to walk along. We parked at the larger lot and it was noisy for a while at night due to some pothole off-loading that was happening. Also, you can hear the foghorn from this lot, so if that might bother you, choose one of the other parking spots.

Report Check-In

Roadside parking right on the beach. Easy entrance and exit, a loop, for big R's. Quiet.

Garbarge and crazy people! But for a night o.k., nothing more...

Great beach camping. Be sure to air down before hitting the sand and then stay on trail :) there are multiple pullouts. Unfortunately there's a lot of garbage, be good overlander and leave the place cleaner than you found it, there are trash bins at the parking. If you don't have 4x4 the only option is the parking which is big but imho not very nice.

Beautiful free place, we saw sea lions in the state park !!! <3

Stayed here one night headed south in December, and again now on the way back north. It's an official free campground, limited to 24hrs during every 14 day period. You can probably get away with staying a day or two extra. Nice beach.
