Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice enough campsite with good facilities. The only issue for me was the lack of privacy between pitches. But still, a nice place for a stopover.
Report Check-InAs previously described nicely spaced camping areas, on dirt to the east and grass to the west. Power, braai and stone table and chairs at each pitch. Central shower/toilet block. Extremely friendly weaver birds and passing mongooses and there is a herd of springbok wandering freely in the cottage area (but fenced off from the campsite).
Very good wifi but subject to load shedding at inconvenient times.
R400 for 2 persons and a camper. A little pricey but worth it for the friendly wildlife.
Plenty shade, green lawns, clear pool & very friendly staff. Will overnight again on way to or back from Namibia.
Report Check-InWould like to stay overnight (1 night only) on 31 March' 23, last stopover before crossing over to Namibia
Report Check-InWe came back here after 4 years. It remains the same charming and inviting camp.
As a truck this time we only used the side gate.
We’ve always stayed here en route to the Kgalagadi, as most people do, although nothing’s changed the grounds look tired. Ablutions are good. We only stayed one night and moved to another camp ground
Report Check-InCamping R180pppn. Great stop-over awaiting PCR test results from Upington. Amblutions neat with power, water and light at camp site. Free wi-fi in campsite. Playground and swimmingpool.
Report Check-InVery neat, large camping area. Well maintained. Clean abulutions. For large / high trucks use the side gate.
Power points at each site
Chalets available
Report Check-InArrived midday, super hot, let in telephonically by very pleasant lady.
Unfortunately, the grass hadn't been cut after recent rains, and we were attacked by mosquitoes relentlessly as we were trying to set up. After a look at the highly anticipated pool, we were disappointed, as it was green and murky. We decided to leave and rather drove the further 250 km to Kgalagadi.
Could be a great site, but maintenance seems to be lacking at the moment.
Report Check-InComing from Namibia. Paid 180 ppn. Free wifi everywhere in the campsite, shade, clean ablutions with great hot shower. No beer for sale, noise from the road and electric plugs at camping spots are only for trailers! No regular South African plug for recharging cellphones, fridge, etc... Pleasant for one night.
Report Check-InWe stayed here to get our PCR-test for Namibia. The campsite is just outside Upington before you enter the desert. There is a swimmingpool with a big slide.
In the surrounding fields are some gazelles.
Upington has some 4x4 stores. 4x4 Mega World (Midas), Safari Center.
We paid ZAR520 camping for two adults and two children.
Report Check-InFriendly service, Clean ablutions, washing machines for clothes available. Good stay over if on your way or back from Kgalagadi.
Report Check-InBig campground with sandy, spacious sites and some shading trees. Very relaxing. Free wifi, Picnic tables, braai, water and electricity at the site, clean restrooms. Wind might be a problem in the open area. The noise from the road is ok.
Report Check-Invery comfortable camp site offering lodges, big rig and tent sites. very clean ablutions with hot water and fast WiFi
Report Check-InNice and clean place with a lovely pool. Really good for a stopover.
Report Check-InVery nice campsite on your way to or from Kgalagadi NP. Grass, Pool, a lot of natural shade and very clean ablutions. Very friendly reception. In the upcoming months they are planning to open a little cafe and add a playground for kids. Unfortunately there is no fix date yet though. Reliable and fast Wifi all over the campsite.
Report Check-InGreat camp site, friendly owners. Our truck was a bit high foe the thatch main gate, but they have a side farm gate. R150pp
Report Check-InMonate lodge
Just outside upington and on the road to Namibia. Half the stands are Grassy stands and 70% have trees and shade. The pool is clean and functioning well. The area was today and well looked after. The ablutions worked and not and cold water and a decent wash up area. Reception was friendly and registration was fast. WiFi worked throughout the campsite area and each site has concrete garden table and benches, with own braai area and light and electricity. All worked. Springbok walking in between the campsite with tortoises and chickens visiting now and then. A good stop
nice campsite next to a farm few have grass 260 p2ppn.Be aware that the height of the shed at the entrance is less than 3.5m
Report Check-InHave been here many times in the past. Perfect overnight to Namibia or Kgalagadi. Latest add-on is fast wifi.
Report Check-InGreat stopover. Shade and a few sites with grass. Sadly some genetically altered Springbok live with the sheep in adjacent field. Slow but usable MTN signal.
Report Check-InClean abolution. Big space. Next to the road and close to the town so good for one night.
Report Check-InWe liked it here. very clean and nice ablutions and friendly stuff.
huge area to stand with shade if you want
Poorly run but a nice campground good ablutions but owners don't seem to care about the place, swimming pool very poor 200 rand for two people
