Wide open space right on the lake with view of volcano and surrounding mountains. Clear landing spot short drive off main road. No one around. Best boondocking on Lake Arenal so far!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
it is a really nice and calm place/ we met only fishermen on a cloudy Sunday
sadly the water lvl was to high to get in but the view of the volcano is pretty (:
Awesome place, completely empty. From Castillo +-45m drive on gravel road with 2 river crossings (May, 20cm water).
Report Check-InBeautiful! Had the entire place for ourselves despite the public holiday. Only downside was a booze cruise blasting loud bass music between 7pm and 1am.
Report Check-InGreat place to spend the night! It's like a little beach. It's quiet, nobody here. Spent a great night! In the morning, a Tico came with his horses but didn't say anything about us spending the night here.
Report Check-InLots of space to choose from. No one around. Just horses and cattle. Not even the family described on other posts. Maybe I entered the lake about 100m before them...
Report Check-Inwe stayed here one night. the roads to this point are sometimes very steep, but mostly in good condition. we asked a man by the houses on the other side of the street, and he welcomed us. muy tranquilo:)
the guave fruits where all full of worms, the lake is not good to swim because the shore is full of plants, but the view on the volcano is pretty.
I would say the long steep roads are not really worth to come to this point.
a few horses around. very green and cool temperature!!
Perfect spot right on Lake! Good swimming, great views, very peaceful and quiet. Cool temps, too. We happened to arrive when the guava trees were ripe so fresh guavas for days picked right off the limb. Couldn't ask for more!
Report Check-InBeautiful Spot, but windy. Had a fantastic night though. For bigger rigs it might be difficult to find a flat spot. Asked the people on the other side of the road to stay and they said no problem. Running water at the road.
Report Check-InNice little spot as mentioned by Skyhorse. Pretty easy to find, and after a little cow pie clearing and machete work we've got a great little volcano viewing spot. We did ask the family living across from entrance if camping was OK. "No problem" they said with a smile. We are constantly seeking the approval of others by the way. Only bummer, someone camped here recently and left a bag of trash neatly tied to a tree. Don't worry about it whoever, we'll pack it out.
Report Check-InWide open space right on the lake with view of volcano and surrounding mountains. Short drive off main road on a dirt road beneath trees that opens up to a big clearing with free range parking. No one around. Best boondocking on Lake Arenal so far because so remote, right on the lake and cool breeze. Our dogs loved running around here.
