Not sure what others’ definition of clean is… but these bathrooms are not it. No soap, not well cared-for. Would feel dirtier after stepping foot in that shower.

That said… for an inexpensive park with electric hook ups, that was the only issue. Otherwise, very quiet (save for the occasional train) and sparsely used, so felt nice and private. Especially campsite 25 which is tucked in some trees.

Quiet night at a great little campground. First come first served so no reservations. Many sites empty when we were here. Bath house could use some updating, but was clean and functional.

All previous comments are spot on. Nice campground with amenities.

Stayed two nights. $13 with a Golden Age pass. Reasonably close to the gulf coast so we went there for the day. A lot of people here look pretty much moved in. Quiet.

Definitely one of the more developed Forest Service campgrounds I've stayed in, and the cost reflects that. Decent bathhouse, nice sites. Stayed on New Years Eve and got the last spot when we showed up around 9pm.

Seems like a pretty well-known/discovered place since there were travellers from all over the country staying here. Since it's first-come you probably shouldn't rely on finding a spot here if you're rolling in late during a busy season.

Some noise from the nearby highway but not terrible.

Stayed 2 nights, only planned to stay one but it was so nice we changed plans. 10 miles from i10, easy, smooth drive. Only about 40-50% of sites taken, even on the weekend. 1-2 bars on T-mobile. We took site 16 and had enough northern sky to use Starlink. Nice double loop campsite, northern loop is much more forested than southern loop. All have power and water! 20,30,40amp.

Campground in Desoto National Forest. $20/night with electric and water. Spacious and plenty of privacy. Quiet.

Everything previously stated was true except the women’s showers- they could use some work. And it’s just one shower. Looked sketchy so I showered in the van. No biggie so long as you’re self contained.

We didn’t feel like scoping out a spot in the NF as it was getting late so we stopped here. Got a spot tucked in the trees at the end of the loop, so we got lucky. Many of the spots are just in an open field. Bathrooms were just fine. Website states it is still partially closed for Covid, but it is fully open as of December 2021. Call ranger station and leave a message if you have questions.

Totally perfect this time of year! We had the whole campground to ourselves. Campfire rings throughout and lots of room for pooch to run. showers and bathrooms were closed due to COVID.

2 loops with 25 sites. electric and water, firepit and picnic tables. city park kind of feel, some spaces right next to each other, some with wooded privacy. right next to hwy 49, so road noise in the eastern sites. iron ranger self pay, $20 a night.

Quiet park. Nice. Hostess and Host were okay people. Clean shower and restroom. I stayed on lot #15, but would have taken lot #7, too, due to the empty field across the drive for my dog and the close proximity to a trail ( which, unfortunately had a broken bridge leading to the swim hole). There was a party going on yesterday at the Pavilion in the center of the park, apparently an Easter celebration and egg hunt. There is a picnic table, fire ring, lantern hook, electric, and water at each site. No Wi-Fi. Also has a garbage receptacle near the restroom/shower and a dump station near the entrance/exit. Many picnic tables around the pavilion area. I stayed for 3 nights. The cost is $20/day or if you have a senior/disabled pass, it is $13/day. Good, quiet family campground. Alcohol/drugs forbidden.
