Latest Check-Ins

Nice spot right next to the river. Very quiet, only a few cars passing by from 5pm to 9pm. Suitable for small vans and for tents.
Trees act as wind shields but still some wind when it’s strong.
Some nice dogs came to see us during the late afternoon. Nobody came to tell us anything.

Report Check-In

Lovely place, though a bit near houses and cabanas.

First spot is a great campervan spot (2wd) 2nd a lot of rocks.

Next to the river, wind protection, quiet

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet place, along the road there was some tent, RVs and cars parked.

Report Check-In

When we parked here some cops arrived within a couple of minutes asking if we came to camp. We said yes and they mentioned it’s allowed with our rooftop tent but not with tents on the ground. Also no fires allowed, after a couple of minutes they left.

The spot is nice below the trees and in between the fast flowing river and the road (very quiet)

Report Check-In

This is also the parking area before the trail and there were many campers parked for the night. We had no problems except someone from the trail entrance who requested us to not start a bonfire which was understandable. Good wind protection and clean. So please keep it that way!

Now signs saying camping is forbidden, no place for rigs anymore. Might be a couple of spots for tents but seems like it’s not accepted.

Report Check-In

This place is permanently closed.

This place has an owner that doesn't want people to camp here. There are signs around that don't allow camping but not precisely here.
Actually, all the neighbors don't want people to camp around the river, we discussed 20mn with 3 of them and some were very angry about people letting trash or going to poop everywhere.
We tried to calm down the discussion and left, but the experience was really not enjoyable.
Please, take care of your trash, and if you can, take some more with you leaving when traveling. ;)

Report Check-In

please don't come here. local people are becoming crazy about people camping and leaving their trash... even if it's not ours and we respect nature more than the others... nice spot but been argueing 30min with locals...

Nice campsite, however some houses around and traffic on the road. Trees provide shelter from the wind.

Lovely location! we had dinner and a nice sleep by the river before heading to Cerro Castillo (for free cause nobody was at the entrance) Very peaceful!
(Not worth to go at the end of the road, the trail is not free anymore)

Report Check-In

One of the prettiest places I’ve camped on the C.A. Access to the river is easy and there’s plenty of grassy areas with trees.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot but the lady leaving in the house on the other side of the river was very upset and “asked” us to move. She had bad experiences with travelers in the past and she is sick and tired of seeing Gringos do their business in front of her windows. She was pretty furious, we just left to park somewhere else.

Report Check-In

As described. I arrived in the dark so not sure if how it looks, but enough room for the F350 with slide on, and there were two guys on bikes in a tent. Sound of the river. Nice.

Report Check-In

We did the Cerro Castillo trek (10000 pesos per person) park is open from 8:30am-17:00pm. We stayed on night on the parking in front of entrance. Fresh water from the creek. Quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Nice spot to base yourself for the hike to Cerro Castillo. 2-5 min walk from the trailhead. Close to the river right next to the road but not much traffic during the day.

Report Check-In

Pretty spot by the river. We were able to drive through an opening in the trees and park two rigs down by the fire pits. Big rigs may not fit. Several spaces for tents along the river. No facilities. Quiet.

Cyclist - Good place to stay overnight. There is a "no camping, no fire, no toilet" just after the bridge, but some police car passed by and didn't bothered us. There were some fire pits left there, but we preferred to use camp burners for not calling attention.
Water from the river was good enough to drink, cook and bath. Lots of toilet paper near by, please take care of yours!

Nice and quiet spot next to the river

Report Check-In

Nice spot by the river with some fire pits. A bit windy but sheltered by trees, almost no traffic passing.

super emplacement pour dormir et faire le plein d eau , rando sur le cerro castillo , et Juan le fermier a qui appartient le bout de terrain super sympa.

Report Check-In

great spot. nice river and lot of space for multiple tents. looks like some people made some asados. near a dirt road.

Lovely camp beside the creek - few places you could stay here - drive past the trailhead for Laguna Castillo. Places for tents and you can park down off the road. We camped here instead of the carpark. Beside the road but no traffic at night.
