Description

location is approximate as my gps is acting funny. it's if you're approaching the glacier viewpoint just south, just look for this old looking lodge with a huge dead tree in the yard. you can't miss it.
long story short, I was flying my drone over the glacier and the owner of the land tapped me on the shoulder and asked to do some video for him in exchange for some nights at his lodge. the lodge is about 5km from the closed camping spot that is just south of this in ioverlander but is still a nice picnic area. I told him about the app and asked if he could open his lodge to over landers. he loves the idea and welcomes anyone to come use the land. the land is vast. lots of space and has perfect views of the glacier. He has three options and gives discounts for overlanders using the app.

$70usd (orig $100) for a 2br lodge which sleeps 7, wood fire stove, kitchen area and bath with hot shower
$30usd (orig $45) for a private room with all above
$20usd if you sleep in your rig. price is per rig I think he said. tents/motos welcome for less. price includes shower/electricity/kitchen/water
$20usd Fishing trips by boat where the fishing is fantastic

About the place. Even if we weren't staying here in exchange for work, we would write amazing reviews. the owner is absolutely hilarious and worth meeting just if you pass by. the place is beautiful, the view is amazing, the decor blows us away, the kitchens are well equipped and they have adorable animals everywhere. I could go on and on but I really just suggest staying here. we stayed at the "forest" houses just 100km up the road and although it was cool, this place blows it away in terms of comfort and hospitality. The forest houses has the unique factor but if you really want to stay somewhere comfortable, this is the place. it's like an old ranch from the 80s with coocoo clocks and animals hides everywhere. definitely stay here.

Latest Check-Ins

This place is called Lodge Lago Las Torres. Follow the driveway passed the first building to the lodge and the owner's house. Stayed in the 2 bedroom cabana for 60,000 CLP. Very cool, rustic, spacious cabana. Space to store and organize bikes out of the rain. Would recommend.

Report Check-In

visited the lodge but was told no camping.

Report Check-In

looks like a really awesome spot. we drive in and despite knocking and ringing various bells no one came out. there was a TV on and spoke in the chimney so maybe they were just asleep. we peeked in the windows if the lodge and it looked super cool. if you're looking for a spot for x-mas or been year this place seems like it would be amazing.
