Something not right?

Description

Right on the beach - underneath palm trees - very nice set up.
The owner Charlie is a great guy, really happy to meet new people and share his love for the area. The camping is right on the beach with use of the hotels installations a few meters back - great breakfast - good views.

Big rig friendly but if you don't fit between the palm trees you can also camp across the street in the bigger parking space.

A great place to stop for a few days on your drive south towards Osa.

Latest Check-Ins

Charlie is a lovely human, but this isn’t a campsite.

Being allowed to use someone’s unclean kitchen / bathroom (with no privacy) does not constitute facilities. There is not actually anywhere to camp outdoors. It’s either the gravel car park / access road, or, the beach (which is public).

The location is superb, just across from the beach as it is. The pool & deck is great, but there were a loud bunch of people getting drunk there when I checked it.

Not really worth 10usd pp/pn, but still somehow a nice experience.

Came cycling. They first said 13000C for the two of us. I said no way José. Eventually paid 7000C/2p/night for camping with our tent next to the pool under the roof.
Helpful and kind ppl.
Pool, jacuzzi, WC, hot shower, WiFi, some stuff of the kitchen.
Don't sleep at the beach (unsafe), the other side of the road, which is public.

Report Check-In

The iov icon is indicating the road to the house, 100m inland. With our motorhome we (2) stayed a few days close to the house (10'000C/night with electricity). Many animals right in in front of our door (lizards, kaimanes, whiteface monkeys, aras, etc.).
The restaurant kitchen has been closed down, at the moment also no WiFi (cost cutting because of Corona?). Charlie is away the next few months. In the meantime, a caretaker who speaks English well, takes care of the property.

Report Check-In

The camping is NOT at the beach front. There is a road in between. It didn’t feel good to stay at the beach front itself as there were some tourists (probably staying at the camping) swimming there. Other places around didn’t feel very safe to us.

Report Check-In

The beach is actually public, not belonging to Charlie’s Jungle house. And Charlie won’t tell you that. That means every one coming and leaving the beach is passing by your camp. And there are people selling coconuts and other fruits who do not sell fruits but trying to sell their miserable life stories. And before you said yes they already cut the coconuts for you. Besides our hammock was stolen. It’s our fault as we shouldn’t leave it outside but apparently the public beach is not as safe as a formal camping site. Not recommended to camp on the beach.

We stayed in the cabins as there was a crazy storm, they agreed to charge us $10,000 colones as it was low season. The cabins are fully equipped, hot showers, kitchen and they allowed our dog to stay. Charlie is a very nice guy and the place is in good shape. Camping area by the beach seemed nice.

Just as described. Got in late and rainy so do not have anything to add.

Nice place to camp. You can camp on the beach or in the secure lot. Friendly staff. Access to pool/jacuzzi. Restaurant in site. Internet it not bad. We paid $15 for 2 people.

Nice to be able to camp near the beach. We paid US$20 for 2p for 1 night.
There is a nice small pool and jacuzzi. In the kitchen you can cook your own meal.
Somewhat remote place.

We had a great time here. We were in our camper van, family members in tents. There are two clean toilets and showers available for campers. Gorgeous, non-touristy beach. Grocery store and soda (local family restaurant) 10 minute walk away. Breakfast available for $5. Charlie, the owner is very friendly and super knowledgeable about nearby attractions, etc. WiFi near the main building but not at the beach campsites.

Report Check-In

The location is nice, right on the beach. Beware of the dog poop though. Broken plastic chairs around aren’t a big deal either.
The communal area is not great fun because of the mosquitos and it is not well maintained at all, especially the kitchen, the worst we have see so far. 10000 colones is really too much for this.
Charlie was not around most of the time, we only saw him for two minutes.

Great place to stay. Beach is just across the street. Lots of accommodation options available here depending on your budget. We camped ($15 US for 2). Access to cooking & lounge area, bathroom w/shower and good wifi. Charlie, the owner, is a really friendly & helpful guy.

Report Check-In

We didn't camp here. Price for camping is $10pp and includes use of wifi and bathroom. Camping is either on the beach or in the gravel parking area next to cabana facilities about 200m back from the beach.

Report Check-In

accueil tout à fait correct.
Charlie paraît très sympathique au premier abord mais il sait avéré agressif et violent.
nous déconseillons cet endroit.
