Fishing Lake near Ayotlán. Nice parking lot/boat launch area at the shore of a local fishing lake. When you pass the lake on Mex90 eastbound, take dirt road to the right before entering townsite.

Drove by on our way to the established (and free) campground.
This place is beautiful to watch fishermen but is busy with locals fishing. We’re not sure how they would feel about people camping in their parking spot and recommend the campsite further down the road.
ok/quiet for a night! the lake smells as though its contaminated...local said it is dirty water!
Report Check-InFishing rights held by local group of 7 fisherman. The lake produces around 200.000kg/year of telapia and some carp. We did stay for 3 nights and made a point of giving back in the form of cleanup. Fisherman are friendly bunch. It is possible to buy a fish on the spot. Be kind - this is one of the places where traveler can really rest....
Report Check-InPretty lake. Dirt road to location. Passed a few families fishing at about 7pm. Quiet and private where we are! A wee bit of boggy driving but made it with our 2wd van. Feels safe!
Report Check-InAs described, local fishing lake, no services. A bit un level where gps coordinates are, but ok. Better and more level camping can be found continuing down the dirt road on the side of the lake and past the dam just a bit. There's even a little, no-charge campground with BBQ pits. 1/2 was flooded when we arrived, other 1/2 was good. Tons of quiet and level camping.
