Bolivia
We camped in the parking lot-cum-camping ground of the Inca ruins. Beautiful place to stay. Running water available and toilets.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We put this location in google maps and maps.me and it took us to the wrong place; so if you want to arrive to the best free camping place in Bolivia you just have to follow the stone path until the sign of parking (attached picture). Before the parking there is an habilited campground site but it is impossible to get there with the car and it’s not leveled at all, so I recommend you to stay in the parking.
We spent two very calmed and quiet nights. There is a river nearby. Totally recommended.
This is a great spot to camp for a night or two while visiting the ruins and enjoying the peaceful valley. No potable water available. Brisk running stream and irrigation canal.
Bathrooms up at office during open hours. Consider taking a little trash when you go. And bury your poop.
Nice spot to stay for a quiet night. Big rig friendly. Potable water. For free. Only the sound of the river.
Report Check-InSuper camping sauvage avec source à côté, une super bonne énergie. on a adoré faire les ruines et profitez de cet endroit très calme.
Report Check-InThis is the parking for the ruins but there are a lot of fire rings and good level spots. There is also a water spout to the left after you enter. The parking at the info centre is not level but there are bathrooms up there with seats but no TP. we left at 7:30 next morning, no one came to collect money. super quite.
Report Check-InThe former parking ground seems to closed due to a fallen tree. We parked right next to the entrance of the park with a highly interested (they watched us all night) but super nice family living ‘next door’. They provided us with wood for our campfire. Running water at the little river 25 meters away, toilet and even a somewhat hot shower in the visitor center (we didn’t use it but I don’t think it would be a problem). Gave the family some BOL for their friendliness, paid 15 BOL pp for the park.
Report Check-InGreat place to explore. We paid 15pp to entrance the Inca site and was worth of money nice and alone!
Camping OK
Nice spot. Didn't see any facilities/water/toilets. No one came to collect any money.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for two days and it was free. No toilets. But water. Very much litter.
Report Check-InCampground just before the entrance. It is just a piece of ground, no other facilities. Next morning a lady came by saying that this was her ground and asking 15BOB per person. We thought that was much, for a piece of grass and it was obviously not her land! In the end we gave her 12 bolivianos (all we had in small money, otherwise it was a bill of 100) And she was grateful for it.
Report Check-InHave a signed campground about 500m before the actual ruins gate. Just rough ground with water pedestal provided. Only toilets would be at the entrance gate and only when attendant was on duty.
Local lady came around wanting 10 Bolivanos for camping.
