Quiet place by the lake. Looked closed when we arrived but they opened up for us. Showers and loos. Very quiet. Saw loads of birds and otters. Don’t use maps.me for directions! Near Turrialba; turn right off main road past new hospital William Allen Taylor.

Great quiet place - current price for campground: 3,000 C/p Nice amenities.
Very easy and quick access from the road (paved). Watch out & turn left just before the new hospital! Recommend this place.

We really loved this place. After two nights of bar music nearby (at other places) the quietness was a relief. Stayed here to travel from Pacific to Caribbean coast. Bathrooms are at the front, we stayed near the lake. There are little sheltered tables and a sink. We paid 3000ppn (nov'22)

Ricardo and his wife Olga run the place for 25 years for the ICE. They are very friendly and helpful and keep everything in shape.

Prices have slightly changed:
2000 colones per person for day use
3000 colones per person for camping

Camping pays from 5 pm to 9 am. If you stay outside these times you have to pay for day use.
Anyway, Ricardo just charged us camping although we arrived at 2 pm. But we had to leave until 9 am.

Use of the decent sized pool and the clean facilities is included!
During the week, we were the only guests but we were told it gets crowded during weekends.

We arrived on a sunday at around 1 ish. The price is still CRC 2‘000 for camping, bit he asked for another CRC 1‘000 for the entry because closing time for the park is at 4pm (see photo of ticket). Facilities are more or less clean. There are several places to stay and friendly people around.

Report Check-In

Still perfect spot to stay for the night. The friendly owner is pointing you all the former mentioned facilities.
2000 CRC p/p for camping incl. swimming pool. We were the only guests.

Nice place. There was nobody there so you had everything for yourself. Beautiful spot on the lake. The facilities are a bit far off from the lake but you can also park on the parking lot near alot of covered outside areas which is great for when it rains. They also have a swimming pool and really cute dogs that sleep in front or your van for protection. We paid 5000 colones for the night.
