Something not right?

Description

At the top of the hill behind the little chapel (take the road on the left hand side and follow it to the right) is a large gravel parking lot. Secluded and quite, will likely give more wind protection than the cliff top option. It is right next to a pool facility that was closed during our stay.

Latest Check-Ins

There was a fence when we arrived and we started asking around at the public pool next to it and we‘re told that there is a new owner of this large gravel lot and he doesn‘t want any overlanders anymore..
haven‘t spoken to the actual owner but they we’re pretty clear about it..
It seems that „wild camping“ in barichara is coming to an end..

So the police sent us to this parking lot and told us that we need to ask some old guy so that he can open the fence for us... But when we asked at the pool they told us that there is a new owner and he doesn't want any overlander anymore.. don't know for sure because we never talked to the owner but it seems to be permanently closed^^

Quiet and safe. I however was requested to leave early as it was used for some air balloon activity. They waited that I woke up though :p

Really Nice place to sleep. Really calm and safe, police goes by each day. Super close to the center. We stayed 3 nights and it was really calm.

Nice and quiet place. Police drove by in the night, didn't say anything. In the pool next to the parking lot we asked for a shower - they offered 2K COP for the outdoor shower (without pool).

Is a free parking en Barichara, at side the Pool Santa Bárbara

Good place to stay in Barichara for free. The place is really dirty because they use it for parties and there are many leftovers. Beer caps, shattered glass everywhere, metallic wires, plastics, etc. (we cleaned a big part of it where we parked). The nice thing is the pool just next to it, but prices for children went up. Charged us 5’000pesos for everyone... the place can be really hot so we finished our 20 days stay in Barichara at Casa Lumo between Villanueva and Barichara, great beautiful house with amazing views! And a little less hot... for more info check the Casa Lumo spot

Bonne visite !

We stay 3 days in that place, it was very quiet at night. The swimming pool is just next the parking(5000 $ for adult and 3000 for child).

Report Check-In

We camped here one night with two other rigs, we felt more comfortable setting up and cooking outside at this location than in front of the Capilla. All was quiet until 4:30am when a group of ladies came to walk around the park for exercise.

Right behind the Capilla De Santa Barbara there's a Pool and next to the pool a large lot which also serves as a soccer field. You'll see the goals. We camped on the farther end of the lot right by the entrance of the BioParque Móncora. Felt safe. It was quiet and protected from the wind. Free.

The place is locked by a chain!
