Very nice lodge. Pure nature, wellness and very friendly staff.

Report Check-In

Great spot to relax for a night or 2…the price is a little high $10/PP but the amenities are worth it! They have multiple small hikes on the property, a good restaurant, massages ($25 for 75 min massage) and the people were all so warm and welcoming! They also have yoga every morning (free of charge) and if you want to have breakfast it’s $4.50/pp (if you stay in the hotel it’s included) they have laundry service as well ($2.50/ 2 Kilo) loved our time here and can’t wait to come back!

Report Check-In

Amazing hotel/hostel. Lot’s of parking and all the facilities you could ask for. I paid $15/night for a very comfortable/quiet dorm bed and $4.50 for a buffet breakfast with homemade granola, bread etc

Report Check-In

This place meets all the requirements of triple A (AdvancedAmbitiousAdventure) travellers and is approved by lasdosmotos :)

Report Check-In

Excellent place to rest. WIFI. POOL. Very friendly staff.
A bit noisy from the street.
5 USD per person

Report Check-In

This is practically a resort, but very chilled out and super friendly staff. Hot water, beautiful grounds and vistas, free yoga.

Report Check-In

I stayed here 15 years ago and have to say this is one of the example resorts you have to search for! Not only the same good quality, but even improved. After Peru, this feels like heaven. They do have an overlander parking, but treat yourself: a matrimonial with private bath is $38 (this includes safe parking at the reception) and there is so much more in this retreat/hideaway place....

Report Check-In

Free morning yoga is really good. They also have a flying joga lessons. Wifi works now at the parking spots.
Still 5us/pp

Report Check-In

Not tent friendly. Not pet friendly. They may accept motorhomes. Room with bathroom is 30usd and does not include breakfast.

Report Check-In

Very nice place but the overlander part is just the parking lot by the entrance to the compound. Not exactly a campground. There is electrical outlet, water tap and a small roof with bench. Internet not reachable from the vehicle and access to showers by the dorms, short walk uphill from the parking lot. Fits about 4-5 vehicles, price still $5/pp. Taxi to town $1.50 or 25-30 minutes walk along the road. Quiet during the night, some traffic during the day.

Report Check-In

Fantastic Place on oft the best in Ecuador.

Report Check-In

nice location with a very nice garden, restaurant, billard, and some resting areas. Hostal is main business. Campsite is just a parking lot by the entrance. But you can use all the facilities of the place, including swimming pool and morning yoga. Hot showers, wifi not by the sites, but available on the grounds. Water, electricity, one table with rain cover. They are helpfull with hiking information, organizing bike or horse tours.
5$/p, no tents

Report Check-In

We were just turned away at reception as 2 motorcyclists because of possible snakes entering our tent? 4x4's and big rigs welcome, motorcycles and tents are not.

Report Check-In

Very nice hostel with space for a few overlanders. Clean showers, good restaurant and a shelter at the camping area. They offer free Yoga lessons in the mornings and massages for $16 - $22.

Our vehicle was not visible from the road so we felt safe to leave it there during the day - no problems.

Report Check-In

stay here 2 nights
very friendly and really good place (zen)
5$/p/night
laundry : 2$/kg

Report Check-In

Our favourite place in Ecuador. Really beautiful and relaxed. Parked on the restaurant parking. Excellent food! Good laundry service (2$ p kg). Yoga program and great massage! You can ask for towels if you want. It took us 5 h to drive from the peruvian boarder from here. Mostly paved until Palanda. Rainy and parts of the road were flooded and landslided.

Report Check-In

Very good service, simple camp area, hot shower..... We stayed with our dog whiteout any problems.....

Report Check-In

A nice place to stay, but just beside the main road and you could see the van from the road. No security at all.
So, for us, because we've been the only campers there, no way to just leave the car alone, so we could not enjoy our stay and moved to the Hotel Valle Sagrado, where you have a secure camping, also with big rigs and you're just in the village center too...
Much better for us!

Report Check-In

We stayed more than a week at this lovely place. Really nice view to the montains. Some nice hiking trails and a great restaurant and bar. We paid 5$ per night per person.

Report Check-In

one of the best places in ecuador. we enjoyd 5 days. very good affordable food in the restaurant.

Report Check-In

Camping area is just inside main gate on the left. DO NOT take a bigRig up the lane.

4 x 110V outlets, water tap and picnic shelter - plus all the other facilities up the hill including swimming pool, massages ...

Report Check-In

$4/per/night. Friendly helpful staff, great self guided hikes available. Common are and spa nicely laid out. Nice place for some downtown and camper cleaning!

Report Check-In

Fantastic place! $4 per person, wonderful grounds, the wifi doesn't work where they've got overland trucks camping but other than that really one of the nicest places i've stayed in over a year on the road.

Report Check-In

There is an overlander gravel ( no more mud) parking lot that you can stay in, $4 p/p night. Met other overlanders here. There is potable water available and a sitting area covered from the rain. This place has everything you would want : swimming pool, hiking trails, delicous reasonably priced restaurant, free yoga, pool &table tennis tables, bar, spectacular views, human chess and wonderful massages. There is a communal bonfire and local horse rides. Wifi is sometimes slow or fast. No wonder this place was called a retreat. The clean public bathrooms are nice with hot showers.

Report Check-In

Good, free Yoga at 8am every morning. Wifi super slow and only upstairs by the restaurant. Camping is in a gravel parking lot right by the road. They just made a seating area and there's water and electricity. The lot is super muddy and unpleasant in rain. Not really a nice place, besides the facilities up on the hill. Nice restaurant. A bit pricey. They have some German food. Don't eat the Kässpätzle (very tasteless), but the Gulasch is good.

Report Check-In

They also have an on-site spa and the facility is quite nice. At $22, their 75 minute full body massage is a great deal. We enjoyed the food - and especially the view - at the restaurant. You can get vegetarian versions of many dishes. Laundry service available at $1.50 per kilo.

Report Check-In

Really nice place to relax. The parking lot for campers is close to the road and not nice but if your van is not to big they will let you park at the top next to the restaurant ( much nicer)

Report Check-In

Wow! An amazing place to relax for a few days. True about the parking for overlanders being next to the road, but the traffic decreased substantially after dark and it got really quiet. Love the pool, the bird life and the views. I attended the best yoga class (free!) that I've ever had this morning here. The setting for the class was something that I had only dreamt about until now. There is a reason that Lonely Planet calls this place a retreat -- the description fits like a glove! Too bad our tourist visas are expiring next week -- we could live here happily! Paid $4 per adult and $2 for our 6-year-old son to camp in our van.

Report Check-In

Great place, clean and hot showers, friendly owner and staff, comfortable climate, nice and well-marked hiking trails. 4 USD/person. We stayed on the upper parking close the reception, only suitable for small vehicles, but quiet. The lower one might be a little bit noisy. Good kitchen but for our feeling a little pricy (7,50 USD for a pizza). They have German dishes as well (Currywurst, Spätzle, Gulasch).

Report Check-In

Camping is in the lot right next to the road, but the hotel grounds are beautiful. Cost was $4/person/night. Swimming pool, pool tables, ping pong, a spa, and lots of hammocks to rest in. Free yoga once a day and great potable water you can fill your tank with.

Report Check-In

Great Place, $4 p/Person/night
acc. to Owner Water comes from the NP nearby and is potable.

... and Hiking maps, Table Tennis, just a dream place
pd $4 pPerson/night

Report Check-In

Over all a very nice hotel but camping in the parking lot far away from the facilities and right at the noisy road isn't too much fun. Our friends with tent weren't allowed to camp and had to rent a cabin. We paid USD 8 per night (per couple).

Report Check-In

No tent camping allowed, because of some ridiculous reasons. We paid 25 US$ for a Cabaña with shared bathroom. No cooking facilities.

Report Check-In

- 4 USD per person
- wifi (slow)
- hot shower, pool
- German-run hotel/hostel that allows car-camping
- decent and reasonably priced restaurant with nice views
- the place for car camping isn't ideal - small cars can park at the end of the access road on a small parking spot, which has electricity hookup and water nearby, but is also quite busy - taxis come here every now and then to drop off or pick up somebody. Larger vehicles need to stay by the gate on a larger parking lot - not sure if you can catch the wifi signal there.

Report Check-In

Parking right on the street, very noisy. Trucks run all night. WC with shower, water and electricity available. In the Hosteria WiFI U $ 8./Night breakfast not recommendable

After the village left

Report Check-In

Wonderful garden area with cabanas, pool area and restaurant above Vilcabamba. Under German management. We camped in the upper parking lot because the RV parking at the road could not be used due to road work. A bit noisy because of all the taxis in the evening. Beautiful bathrooms with hot showers. Laundry service. Free WIFI.

At the reception there is a binder with suggestions for walks and with hiking maps.

(4 US $ / person)

Camped on the gravel parking lot down by the road. Had water, power and WIFI at the parking lot. Toilets was open all night and the showers was nice and hot. The hostals facilities were great with hammocks, swimming pool, great views and a good restaurant.
