Nice flat area in front of the beach. The sand is soft in some places but avoidable. Was assured by 2 locals that it is okay to camp here.
A bit of garbage but I'll pick up what I can ... hopefully none for the next person! There is a bar/restaurant a couple hundred meters in either direction.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Drive down this beach and you have endless choices of beautiful spots right on the beach, but still in the shade. We stayed two nights just totally peaceful alternating between swimming, reading and napping. A little piece of heaven. Saw a sloth and a dart frog and had great Claro signal. Recommend this free gem!
Report Check-InWe parked at the end of the parking lot in the sand near the sea, just to have a little sun. Ok for one night, it's pretty quiet. However at night a homeless man came to ask us for money, it is never pleasant as a situation ... Try to favor spots before or after the city of Puerto Viejo which is a little too touristy.
Report Check-InSeemed to us significantly better than the spots along the road for obvious noise reasons. Super spot, but lots of mosquitoes ..
Report Check-InReally good spot - we stayed for three nights. In night nobody is around, locals are very kind. Easy to level and to find shady spot.
Beach is clean and good to swim, dark sand.
We recommend this site 👍
Report Check-InUn joli spot en plein front de mer! Nous avons eu la chance de voir un paresseux et une grenouille (vert fluo avec des tâches noires). Pas de commodités. Nous nous sommes sentis en sécurité tout le temps.
A beautiful spot near the ocean. We had luck to see a sloth and a frog ( fluorescent green with black donts). Without amenities . We felt safe everytime.
Report Check-InBelle plage de sable noir. Nous y sommes restés une nuit puis avons préféré aller à Punta Uva.
Très agréable pour se baigner!
Beautiful black sand beach. We stayed there for one night and then preferred to go to Punta Uva.
Very nice for swimming!
Nice and quiet place. We slept here one night. Be careful with all the ant roads. There are quite a lot of them.
Report Check-Inlot a foot traffic on the beach, some fishermen. stay in front of the slanted trees or you might find a spot of soft sand and get stuck with your van.
Report Check-InNice flat sandy spot on the beach. No faciities. Rainy day so just hung out in the van.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for 1 night. Very nice spot under the trees with view on the beach. Recommended!
Report Check-InCamped here with another van for two nights. We loved this spot! Locals came around all day to chat, offer water, bathrooms and showers. One neighbor even gave us some homemade chocolate.
Report Check-InWe really liked this wild camping spot! Secluded, covered by trees, access to the long stretch of beach at LTE signal. We ended up staying here 3 nights, and met other overlanders :)
Note: Enjoyed working at the nearby Azul Banana Beach Club, they have good wifi and plenty of tables. Just a 5min walk down the road from camp. Nice vibe. They also offer a soup/salad bar for $7.50 which was surprisingly satisfying. We used their restrooms and outdoor showers with no problem.
Report Check-InSpent one night here and one night a little further down the track right on the beach. We liked the spot further down the road, not as much space but a lot less people around during there day. This was a perfect get away for Friday Saturday night in Puerto when everyone comes down from San Jose and parties for 48 hours straight haha.
Report Check-Inquiet place to spend a night. just find a tactical hidden spot on the beach and you'll be perfectly fine.
Report Check-InWe just stopped in for a quick overnighted. It was a Nice quiet place to camp. No Amenities.
