Description

Camping on gravel parking lot, at nearby visitor center there are toilets and a water hose. No other facilities. We paid 4US$ pP/night, this is the normal overnight camping fee everyone has to pay. Day use is free of charge. Very quiet at night. There was a big camper truck, so big rigs can make it to here, but the street is narrow and the bridges have a height restriction of 3.8 meter.

Great camping spot in the lake walk trailhead/ car park. After 5pm we had the whole area to ourselves.
No amenities.
No Claro signal.

We're on a bicycle. The access is forbidden for the velo, even to go to this camping spot. We have sleep next to the entrance door of the park (a 5-foot walk from this place)

We stayed here 1 night in the muddy grassy area for 4$ per person. Dont expect something like a campground here, the refugio building is closed, No kitchen, No shower, just a toilet. The guards we're anything else than friendly. The way around the lake is really beautiful and well maintained and if you have kids they will have fun here. For that worth the price.

Everything still as described. Careful: They close the gate as soon as the last daytime visitor leaves. So don‘t count on the 16:30pm. 4$pp. Very, very quiet at night, almost silent. Beautiful area. I don‘t think that a 3.8 meter high vehicle can get in here without a lot of roof scratching, more like 3meter limit. Depends on how much beating your rig can take.

4U$ pp per night. Peaceful. Clean toilets. Running water. Great spot

Arrived at 13:45 and took a leisurely walk around the lagoon. Didn't see much as it was very cloudy. Informative bilingual signs along the path (the trail is intended to be walked counter clockwise: pass in front of the house keeping the house to your left).

We parked backwards into the little path on your left just before the parking lot, giving us some privacy. Prepared dinner while all other visitors were leaving.

We had a quiet, rainy night here. Paid 4 USD per person per night.

As bellow all is true. We love it here.

Nice quiet spot near an absolutely stunning valley. Camping in your rig is in the parking lot, but it's grassy and very quiet at night as the park closes at 16:30. Tent campers can hike a little way into the valley and camp near the burbling stream.

Speaking of the stream, bring your fly rod if you've got one.. :)

We hiked the trail up the valley in an attempt to get into the higher portion of the park. A mile or so into the valley the trail is easy and the views of the stream and cliff-side waterfalls is great. After the trail starts to climb things devolve into miles and about 1000' of scrambling up what is basically just a rocky streambed.

We didn't mind the $4pp charge, the facilities were spotless and open all night. Not sure why this NP charges for camping when it seems all the others don't .

Although there is more going on at the main entrance to the park, we preferred this one for sleeping. It's much quieter and the parking is much more pleasant since it's so far off the road.

Beautiful spot and amazing hikes possible. This is a national park aimed to protect the environment and wild life. Therefore no pets allowed which I like to respect, even in our home world. Even my presence has an impact, our sounds, smells, ... We are welcome guest here and might get away with bending rules. I feel we are all ambassadors of our countries here, sorry, just MHO.
Cold nights.

Parking après l'entrée du parc 4$/p tranquille et sur.

Although the entry to all National Parks (with exception of Galápagos) is free from 2017-01-01 the camping fee is still USD 4 p.p.

We hid our dog as well, and had the bad luck to run into a whole bunch of rangers on the hike. They told us it is forbidden and so on, even if its on the leash. Very unpleasant experience.
Dont really get it why all the national parks are so paranoid. We saw cows, lamas, and horses who actually eat up the plants. Dont see what a dog on a leash can do for a damage. It's not like we have the possibility to let her somewhere. Our car is our home.

4$ is p.P. and p.N. So when you stay two nights with 2 persons, you have to pay 16$.
The walk around the lake is really nice.

Paid $4/person. They close up around 4:30pm (maybe a little earlier). Great location if you want to hike the next day. They have non-potable water up by the ranger station.

Nice level gravel area for camping. At a trailhead for a short walk around lake. Some longer trails that go thru the park can be accessed from here as well. $4 pp. We hid our dogs as we entered and had no problems. Narrow road on the way in.
