Pasamos una noche de Sábado sin problemas en la última calle de la costa Huanchaco, los vecinos son amables y es un buen reparo del viento y del ruido de las calles centrales.

Report Check-In

This place is worse than being parked on a quiet street in any other city, where traffic actually stops between 11pm and 6am. We purposefully stayed at the extreme northern end of the boardwalk to be away from it all.

Passing, honking cars, loud trucks, and boomboxes all night long, during the week. Some honking and people partying, singing, listening to blasting music from 2:30am until 4:30am (when I asked them to move) on a Monday morning. I would not want to be here during the weekend. It is an ugly party town with overpriced restaurants and drinks. The produce market is okay. As always, ask prices first. Would not recommend staying here.

Even at independence fiesta there was no problem to stay over night here. Nice location.

Stayed here for one night. Nice beach. After sunset all the people started leaving and by 9:30pm it was quiet. We were the only vehicle parked along the street that night. Everything closes down early, even the restaurants.

Report Check-In

nice place to sleep, we felt secure and quiet

Report Check-In

Anywhere along the curb of this beach is all good for overnight. The northern end was perfect for us - it’s walking distance to the activity and maintains some privacy.
Great spot and comfortable temperatures! A local told us this used to be a party town pre-covid. These days it’s fairly relaxed. There are some surfers, and it’s quiet at night. Everyone comes out for the sunset, but it’s not overcrowded at any point. We stayed through the weekend!

Report Check-In

On the beach during the day, but police advice us to stay along the street (with lights) for the night. Some bark dogs.

Report Check-In

We stayed 200m after on the front Bracho, just front of the restaurant « otra cosa » very nice place, safe and quiet.

Report Check-In

Parking is still allowed on the beach, we had no problem. The entrance to the beach is about 100 meters further north.

Stayed two nights. Moved a bit after visiting ruins. Super peaceful. Met other travelers. Find a flat spot and you’re all set

Report Check-In

Good place to park for a night. Quiet and lot of other vans too (5 when we where here). No facilities. But toilets and shower of 1,5 soles in the center close to the soccer field.

Report Check-In

Ok very nice, quiet.
Pas autorisé de dormir sur le bord de plage, soit disant à cause de la marée montante, seulement sur le front

Report Check-In

We werent sure where to park so we asked the police and they put us right on the beach! Local restaurant has good ceviche and cheap beer.

Report Check-In

quisimos para sobre la playa con nuestro motorhome pero al rato la policía nos saco. igualmente pudimos parar sobre la calle costanera. seguro y tranquilos.

Report Check-In

We went to stay here but the security guard said that camping there is no longer permitted. But I got the feeling that he didn't really know. We later talked to police and they said it was fine. But we had already moved to another lot.

Report Check-In

What a nice surprise. It ain't your idyllic beach paradise but met multiple other people in vans, etc. Fulfilled some much needed social time. The locals don't blink an eye at Overlanders- very normal here.

Report Check-In

We sleept at a Saturday on this streetparking and it was surprising quiet and if you drink something in a cafe, you will have wifi

Report Check-In

Advised that beach access is no longer permitted

Report Check-In

Free but dificult to who don't have bath in car. We have used to café in front.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night. All good. No encounters with the police.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 3 nights. The first 2 nights, Sat & Sun, were quiet after dark, and noone bothered us. On Mon night, the police told us to park on the street, outside of the lot becuase they siad it was dangerous in case there are big waves. It seemed pretty silly, the tide never came up at all and the road is actually lower than the lot. Free. The lot was roped off when we left.

Report Check-In

Stayed here no problems, police never bothered us. It was quiet.

Report Check-In

Better to park at far end of beach due to random party's across the street till 4 am. Showers and restroom up towards pier. S2

Report Check-In

We stayed here one night and didn't love it. We parked at the far end, but it was still busy and noisy until late at night. Even after talking with the police, another policeman woke us up in the middle of the night and said we couldn't sleep there. But once he found out we were tourists he said it was fine.

Report Check-In

Although the sign does say no camping, the security guards make an exception for peaceful overlanders. In fact, they kick everyone else off of the beach at night, but just smile and nod at the overlanders. We camped here two nights with four to five other vehicles. Great vegetarian restaurant nearby called Otra Cosa with delicious meals, fast wii, and clean bathrooms.

Report Check-In

Good beach camp. Confirmed with police that it is ok to camp here. Bathrooms and showers available just down the beach near where the reed boats are. 2s to take a shower.

Report Check-In

We thought about camping here--this is right on the beach. However there are no facilities and the signs here say no camping. I'm not sure if this is enforced or not. We saw a few other Overlanders parked here at night so it may be ok!

Report Check-In

Free. No facilities. Parking on the large sandy area on the beach. 24 h police patrol. Minutes walk from cafés, restaurants with fast wifi. This stretch of beach is quiet, peaceful and tidy. No sand flies and perfect temperature.
