Huge camping area under high trees at the river, well maintained.
Helpful manager. A little bit hidden, but now there’s a sign at the road.
Only cold shower, dinner a little bit expensive for 600Ksh.
Sporadic coverage with SafariCom SIM at campsite—reasonable reception at reception/restaurant.
550shg per night/person.

Lovely campsite situated under the tallest trees. Although the facilities are basic the shower was good and pit toilets were clean. No electricity and no restaurant. Orders need to be placed beforehand. Enjoyed our one night stop over.
Report Check-InWe loved this hidden and very peaceful place for a stop over. Monkeys playing around on the site. Not begging for food. And in the morning some goats around the 4x4 rooftop tent. Place for a campfire. No other tourists here.
Report Check-InAll as said in last comment. Great stopover. Peaceful, lots of shade, nice mountain view if you park near the fence. We had a crazy storm during the night and some tree branches fell down, so be careful where you camp. Excellent cold shower in this hot place! Safaricom internet signal works well enough but quite unstable. Price still 600KES ppn.
Report Check-InNice and quiet place. Very good for a stopover. Droptoilet and cold shower. Basic and working but dome maintenance necessary. Ksh 600 pppn. For Ksh 250 they make s nice campfire.
Report Check-InNice Campsite next to the river. Now 600ksh pppn. Monkeys playing around. Toilet and shower in need of renovation. There are also bandas, but didnt ask the price. Nice place for a stopover to/from your way to Eliye Springs!
Report Check-InCamping now 550shg pppn. Since few people seem to actually stay here, food from the restaurant has to be ordered in advance and apparently even beer has to be brought in. No flush toilets, but many long drops—most seem to be in working order with toilet seats (well, they’re long drops ;-)
The whole camping area has somewhat open and airy shade from mature trees, all flat. The trees are tall, so pop tops and taller big rigs should have no problem. Forget solar power, though.
Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff.
Site on perpetual river, but depending on the season and location of the sand, the flow may shift—at the opposing bank during our quiet and peaceful visit.
South on Hwy A1 is fine—going north, A1 is ok to Kainuk, but deteriorates soon after to wretched condition.
