Lovely free established campsite! Pit toilets and trash disposal only services. No cell service. Campsites all include awnings, picnic tables, and a fire pit. Sparsely occupied when I visited and campgrounds were nicely maintained. Equestrian camping and hiking trails about a half mile up the road. Great views of Mt. Moria.

Free place to stay with bathrooms. Does have camp sites first come. If all taken we have stayed in the front by the tree. Has hiking trails and is about 25 miles away from Great Basin.

This campground has 3 different sections in the backsection being beautiful snowcat mountain views all around it was absolutely gorgeous lots of wonderful trails and big. Rocks to climb very well kept and clean we were super happy with the experience of being there

Nice, well kept, free CG

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We stayed in the second site for one night in late May. The CG is very clean and well maintained. Although, the CG is small, 8 total sites, 2 or 3 were available when we arrived. The sites also have nice separation.

AT&T coverage was poor, with 0 to 1 bar of 5GE and speeds of only 0.3 MB/s. We had access all 3 western DISH satellites and Starlink had speeds were up to 11 MB/s.

All spots were taken when I arrived at 5:30pm on a Monday in May :-(
So I drove onto the dirt road in back and found a fire ring very easily. Beautiful area.

Great campground. 6 or 8 campsites near the road, all with fire rings, bbq pits, picnic tables and shade awnings. if you travel up into the rec area, there are probably another 30 wild camp sites with just fire rings. no cell service with Verizon. bathrooms available and cleaned daily.

Report Check-In

Clean and spacious campsites, each with a grill, fire pit and covered picnic table. No Verizon service.

What a great FREE campground! Very clean, quiet (some road noise), and the spots are perfect. Great view of the mountains and a hiking trail.

Gravel roads, designated sites - some with cement pads!

stopped in on my way to Bishop, CA. Stellar free campground. Great views of Wheeler Peak from the upper campground. Will stop in again for a stay. No cell service (T-Mobile)

Great campground we got in late(8:30pm) to see Great Basin and this place was a great start to our trip.Picnic tables, pit toilets, and great view. We only found one spot right by the highway I’m assuming that the other sites may have less road noise but not many cars driving by late at night. Pretty quiet

I loved this free little campsite! There are only a few true campsites; but with a van you'd be able to park in the general parking lot for an overnight stay. No cell service, but the bathroom was a great perk & the pond makes for a great view too.

Stayed here for two nights. Get here early, it fills up quick. There is a nice (Unofficial) spot right before the upper campground. As soon as you reach the peak of the hill, you turn right on the dirt road and it’s right there away from everyone else.

Site as described previously. Better sites with area for Horses in the back like other user described. Very open so perfect for Solar. FREE 14 day limit. Well maintained and equipped. No water closest would in Baker. Visitor center had fountains shut off for Covid I imagine.

We absolutely loved this recreation area. We stayed in the 2nd campground about a half mile up the gravel road and were the only ones in the entire place. Clean pit toilets, bbq pits, picnic tables, etc. a few different trailheads, we hiked the 2 mile Sac Pass trail which took us to various rock formations which were a blast to climb. View was gorgeous, mountains and hills in a 360 view. Only downside was on our 2nd night the wind picked up considerably. Not a lot of snow in early Jan and besides the wind, the weather was mild.

Free BLM campgrounds - one near the highway(6+ sites) and another(4 sites) about 1/2 mile up the gravel road. Both have clean pit toilets. If these are full there are lots of places to pull off the road and camp. Very convenient to Great Basin National Park and Lehman Caves(must see tour!).
