Something not right?

Description

July 2019: paid 25k per person. There are shaded sites for tents, probably nice for (motor-)cyclists and space for a few vans, easy to level. Nice and friendly owner.

The best of them! Only 20k pesos per person, including parking and toilets and hot spring. Wonderful vibes during Semana Santa. Full of young students. The best option around here !

Oct 2022: the road is rough and you could attempt with 2wd but need clearance in some spots. some cleared landslides on the way

Report Check-In

The road is pretty bad for at least 5km below and maybe a little less above. I was charged 30,000 for one person and a pitch. When you consider that the pitches are setup and covered, there are the hot pools, a toilet in good condition, water and power points (by the pools) it's probably reasonable. Was quiet while I was there even though it was a Saturday - just one couple. I suspect the road is putting people off. Beautiful spot and potential for some great birding along the road below if you feel like a walk. There is a spot where you could cook but no food available as previously mentioned, so bring what you need.

he asked 35000 for campwr +person.got greedy ?!? leaving!

Report Check-In

The road to this campside was very adventurous, but we managed without 4x4 (with a Dodge Ram B3500). The road from the other side is way easier from the side of Letras instead of going directly from Manizales.
The owner is a kind man, kept on bringing us very sweet tinto. It was however expensive, we payed 32000 COP for the two of us.

Perfect and tranquil just as described. Elgar (the owner) is great and 24/7 guy for anything. Limited camper space (2-3 max). Busy with locals on the weekends. Call ahead if you are coming (phone only, he doesn’t have WhatsApp) +57 (318) 656-0474

Sweet spot, new owners since 2 years there are now 3 pools, perfect temp, changing room and baños (with TP and seat!) the camping shelters are awesome, the views over Manizales spectacular at sunset… we even found a shelter for the bikes (it rained when we arrived but turned out beautiful later on) owner is super friendly.
No food or drinks so bring everything.
As far as access road, you’d need a serous 4x4 with high clearance right now due to ruta and a landslide if coming up from Gallinazo, ADV bikes no problems, but easy access from the top side (La Tribuna)
We paid 30,000 per person for camping and use of the pools (available all night)
Pretty quiet on a Friday night just us and 3 hikers but week ends could get busy.

Still open and running. Place/pools seemed very clean

Beautiful place to camp. Incredible views of mountains and of Manizales! It cost us 50000 for a van and 2 people for 1 night. In the middle of a Wednesday night a group of young people came here to party which made for a loud night. The road to get here is gravel but we were able to make it in our Mitsubishi L300 with only 2wd. Don’t stop at the other thermals.. keep going to this one it’s worth it for the views!

Definitely worth the money! The bath is simple but clean and hot. The best part is, it is open all night. A nice parking spot on the grass with a nice view. Toilets are downstairs near the bath. He asked for 25000 per person to sleep in the camper and use the bath but we paid 20000COP. You can refill drinking water and water for tanks.

Nice camp spot with a natural hot spring pool, just down the road from the Del Ruiz hot springs resort. Flat spots with gazebos for tent camping. One toilet, no showers, a dressing room. No stores nearby, bring your own food and water. The road in is unpaved and can be a bit rough for a low clearance vehicle but we had no problems on our motorbikes. We really enjoyed camping here and the pool is hot, so hot that they add cold water to even out the temperature. Had the place to ourselves on a Thursday night.

We drove up here from Manizales. The road is paved till Termales Otoño (where they did not let us stay overnight because the boss was not there to allow it). The rest is gravel road, but not too steep so it wasn't too bad without 4wd. High clearance, AT tyres and a bit of power are definitely an advantage (some sections are made of bigger, slippy rocks).
The guy charged us 50000COP for one van and two people. Some locals came by on motorcycles in the evening, but in the morning we had the small man-made pool filled with volcanic water for ourselves (it's burning hot).
Lots of stars at night, beautiful view on Manizales and the mountain range. Cold at night.

very nice place, we were on the week and we were alone. the pool is nice and you can bath in the night.

if the owner are not here, you have to go to the tienda, down the road to find the guardian. They sell cheese and agua panela.

We paid 40k for two

Report Check-In

Parking for a couple of cars, campers, vans. Big rigs are fine. There are two roads in and both are passable with any vehicle.
Pools are clean, concrete lines with some rocks. Basic and wonderful. Toilet. Changing room. Flat decks for tents. Limited food available, best to bring your own. Walk down to the Boy Scout memorial and then take the short, muddy trail alongside the stream. Leads to a lovely waterfall and a “natural” hot tub. Great place to stay above the clouds, good price, no tourists. Driving out toward PNN you may catch a glimpse of he volcano.

This is definitely the better option to the fancy hotel up the road. There's a really friendly couple that runs it, basically just a small pool but if you come on a weekday you'll have it to yourself. there's also plenty of space for tents right by the spring. We paid 40,000 for 2 people for springs and car camping.

Report Check-In

Very peaceful and private little man made hotspring pool. Gorgeous views. 35,000 for 2 people to use pool and camp. No facilities nearby so stock up before. Can visit thermales del Ruiz for the day from here.

Report Check-In

Nice spot way off the beaten track. Guy wanted 40k for the one pool and camping. Straw platforms with plastic roofing to camp under. Simple meal for 7k, although it may have been the guy's dinner.
