Latest Check-Ins

Nice quiet spot off the highway, just past the wildlife gate

Report Check-In

Open space right off the highway. Plenty of open spots and accessible to 2WD. Don’t need to go as far down as this pin

Report Check-In

As stated. Place is very quiet. In the Spots before the Gate is quiet some Garbage. After the Gate the Spots are clean. You have to branch of the Main Drag to find nice even Spots. Only downside is it takes a lot of time to get there as the access road is very bumpy and lots of Washboard, so you have to go very slow. For Big Riggs turning around could be quiet a mission expected for the first few Spots before the Gate.

Report Check-In

As described. Please take care when you get off I-89 and are first riding on the road past the big Polaris building. You'll be driving on that road when all of a sudden - maybe 2 miles in- it turns into a rocky dirt road with no warning/signage. It was very jarring for me and my campervan to be doing 50 mph and then suddenly unleashed into this primitive road. So my message/warning is: go very slow once you're past the Polaris building. And keep an eye out for when the road changes suddenly to dirt.

Report Check-In

As everyone mentioned this area has lots of opportunities, just get away from the freeway.
Google gets confused. Get off at Nevada Pacific Parkway exit. You’ll see a huge Polaris building exit right here. Drive on Duffy Rd along the interstate towards the Polaris building and then use google to the spot. Continue on to the “lake”. Road is NOT sandy but Prius accessible.

Report Check-In

We picked the level, hard spot on the right just before entering the wildlife management area. Use caution selecting a site because we found much of the ground to be soft sand. Seems to be an OK place for dogs to roam with few prickers. The permanent setup described by others is still there. Saw evidence of makeshift shooting range, but no one used it while we were here on a Wednesday night. Verizon 3 bars at 1.9 Mbps.

Report Check-In

e careful driving at night. There are no signs, but the pavement ends. There are some abandoned cars along the way... and a bunch of campers grouped together on the left on your way in.
I found it difficult to find sites, and what I did find, the ground was soft / wet. I am glad I got out OK. I just parked by the sign / entrance and slept great.

Report Check-In

I would not recommend following the power line road like another review mentioned. You have to go pretty far back on sand roads to get to a pullout place and there’s a lot of old garbage/dumping. Little worried about a nail in my tires at this particular spot.

Report Check-In

Found a nice level spot for the night 0.2 before the Fernley WM sign. Across the way, locals like to come in the afternoon to shoot. Except one person doing target practice absolutely no one came through.

Passed a picked over car, decomposing cow, and what looks like a permanent resident.

Report Check-In

Driving all day, this spot seems like it will be absolutely wonderful to crash! As everyone said, there are plenty of pullouts for different setups, although the ones before the gate seem to be spoken for on a longer term basis (those spots are MUCH closer to the highway anyways, so they can have them!).

The road getting here, before and after the gate, is great for any type of vehicle (if my Honda Fit can do it, anything can!). I didn’t drive all the way to the lake but this spot is absolutely perfect, plenty of space and far enough away from the highway to where it’s a dull white noise, not in your face at all. No facilities, so Leave No Trace, as always! Bring your own water.

Report Check-In

camping spot down a driveable dirt road.

Report Check-In

Great dispersed sites. Take the road past Polaris and you can follow the power lines for lots of level parking areas. Far away from I80; so you don’t hear the Highway noise. No problems in our Ram Promaster van.

Report Check-In

Def nothing out here. Plenty of level spots to camp and far away from the Highway noise.

Report Check-In

Just spent one night here, didn’t go super far in so I could still hear the interstate. There is a dead cow on the side of the dirt road. Had t-mobile service.

Report Check-In

Lots of mosquitos by the water, we had to drive away about a quarter of a mile to escape most of them. Otherwise a great spot that has lots of spaces to park.

Report Check-In

Went way back 2wd fine just don’t go too far on side trails. No problems stayed a night great area lots of room.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Okay place. No water in the late summer but the views were descent.
Good Verizon LTE service
Washboard road for about 3 miles with a few spot of sand... enough that my traction control alarm went off in the loss sand.
We drove a rear wheel drive sprinter van and had no problem but I didn’t like the washboards rattling my van.

Report Check-In

We took the first pull out on the left after the gate. Met our needs for the night to camp in the van. Can hear the interstate. Wide-open landscape.

Report Check-In

As stated, follow road all the way back past the gate. A few pull off spots. I went back to the north side of lake. Nice
Get off at N Nevada Pacific Parkway, turn left at the new company building (can’t recall name). Yup road is rough.
Polaris is the company building. Interestly not one car in parking lot. Corona closure?

Report Check-In

Nice prairie landscape. Continue driving a bit after the gate and you’ll get to a lake. Dirty water, but makes good subset foreground. ;) The road is rather bumpy and there is only a few pullouts, but it’s quite a cool place.

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet. Beautiful, serene area. Great place for camping and a hike

Report Check-In

je n'ai pas trouvé l'entrée, le gps m'envoie sur la Highway face au point mais les accès depuis cette route sont clôturés
