Mexico
No services like electricity or restrooms, but great place to camp. Security is good since is a private property and they do night rounds to check everything is fine. Great river to take a swim. Shallow, but great and is thermal water.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We stayed at the very end of the dirt road. Quiet, felt very safe as they close the gate to enter at night and it is a dead end road. So there seems to be no other way for vehicles to enter. The river is a perfect temperature, even when the weather is cooler. Great for an easy stay right outside of Guadalajara. There are no services like showers, bathrooms, etc. Cell signal was in and out.
Report Check-Inbecare of big rigs, the road is rough and small, many low trees, we went till balenario and than 200m, than the trees are to low, paid 200Pesos 20.691495, -103.612861 (finished)
Report Check-InPlace was as described. It was a long bumpy road to get here but it’s totally doable and was worth it. Friday night we had the place to ourselves then the next night it filled up a bit but was still quiet at night. The river drowns out a lot of sound.
The river was warm, not hot which was just perfect.
We cleaned up a LOT of garbage before we settled in for our two day stay. Sad.
$100 pesos per person to camp.
We paid 20p for our van to enter the park, and then when we got to the thermal river area, we paid a man at the gate 100p per adult and 70p per child for camping. Told us to drive on through and pick any spot by the river to camp down a 2km stretch of road. We arrived on a Sunday so it was absolutely packed with almost nowhere to park but it cleared out around supper time. River was nice and warm but spiders everywhere haha!
We did have someone on a motorcycle come tell us our license plate wasn’t on his list to stay the night, so we went back out and talked to the original guy we paid and he said not to worry everything was fine. Nobody else bothered us after that so I guess it was nothing. Cool place overall.
Report Check-InAwesome and magical place to camp. we camp just aside of the dirt road along the hot river. There are many spots to camp as you drive up. Just continue the road until you find yours. Prices have gone up. We where with my family and they charge us 100 pesos per adult and 75 pesos per kid. The place is worth it hope you enjoy.
Report Check-InNot pet friendly. There are signs the entire drive in for no perros and gatos (dogs and cats).
Report Check-Ingreat place! no cell coverage. we drove all the way to the end with our 2wd Sprinter, definitely no problem, road is just a bit bumpy.
Report Check-InArriving at the gates the friendly man explained to stay it was 50 pesos per person/we think that price was in the formal camp area? He also said he had two spots/ which we now understand you could do the formal campground, or along the river. we said we would drive through and have a look, we thought we could drive up to the hot springs that is pinned on iOverlander, it is not possible to drive in this direction as the road becomes a dead end. We did however enjoy the thermal river water even though it was shallow, it was very beautiful, the further you go up the river the warmer it is. It was clear that with fire pits ect that you could camp along the river. A friendly young man on a motorcycle came and collect our money, there was 2 of us and we gave him 100 pesos and he gave us back 40!...... to conclude: 50 pesos per person to camp in formal area, 30 pesos per person to camp along the river. Great spot!!!!!
Report Check-InYou have two options here: 1: when you enter the gates of the property, there is a nice "beach" and camping, where we could stay along the warm river with our truck camper. (Theoretically it is not allowed to go and stay with car along the river, but we were allowed to do so). There is toilet, shower(wasn't working at the time), water, fire pitches, playground, palapas. It costs 100/adult and 50 for children. Option 2: you can go further, until the place that us marked on overlander (2km from the camping site) and find and stay any place you want, this cost 50/30.
Report Check-InArrived Sunday eve. Very crowded with families but everyone left by sundown. Lovely warm thermal river. 100 pesos for two people to camp. Monitored by a nice chappy who made rounds on his motorbike until night.
Report Check-InBe careful, to go to this place, don t follow maps.me. You must to drive on the Mex 70 (direction Puerto vallarta ) and turn left after the pieton bridge. A Emilio zapato, follow balneario Rio salado.
After, enjoy !
Place is open, $50 pesos per person. Super nice place to camp, the water on the river is son nice for swimming at night an watching the stars. It gets crowded on weeknds but not at night or early mornings. Ther is a guy on a motorcycle that sells pizza (we didnt try it)
Report Check-In100 for two people... Drove to the far end... A little trashy at the sites but in all a nice area... The road in is a little rough so give yourself a little time to get in... River nice and hot though a little buggy both in and out the river..
Report Check-InThe whole river is thermal. It gets warmer the further you drive up it. You can camp here for $50 pesos/ person. It's the rainy season now and we went through a really deep puddle (for us) to get here. There are facilities by the main gate where you pay. There's a pool there and a picnic area there too. We camped all the way at the end of the camping zone, a few kilometers past the gate where there are no facilities. Dogs are not allowed here because it's a protected area. We snuck ours in (knowing he'd just go to sleep) after hiking Loz Azules in Tequila this morning. There are lots of signs saying no fires and no trash, but there is trash here as well as the remains of old fires. They close the gate to the entrance road at night. The road might be called high clearance- we made it but are not a high clearance vehicle.
Report Check-InNo services like electricity or restrooms, but great place to camp. Security is good since is a private property and they do night rounds to check everything is fine. Great river to take a swim. Shallow, but great and is thermal water.
