Really nice place, nice host, beautiful view and very nice and clean bathrooms :)

Just the last meters of the road to the spot are bad gravel, but doable!

very good place to spend 1 or 2 nights before arriving in cusco. clean bathrooms and good service. The 500 meters of dirt road leading to the campsite are in good condition.

Hat off to Stefanie, her husband and her team to what they have achieved in the last 11 years. A school, kindergarten and after care, now attended by 70 children. Wonderful buildings with class rooms, volunteer accommodation, bed & breakfast rooms, play ground, open class rooms for outdoor activities and even a half tube for skate boards. And of course a couple of camping spots dotting around the large property. With a lovely shower/toilet and sauna house and a common room with stunning views onto the mountains. We paid Sol 40 for 2 persons per night. A wonderful and worthy contribution to Oye Lena. Come and see for yourself. We loved our stay her.

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot! you support this great school project if you stay here. Such a nice playground for your kids or a volleyballfeld for you. Amazing showers, very clean and really hot. We had no problem with the short dirt Road with our truck.

Report Check-In

We arrived and there was no one home. Don’t recommend driving until you have called and organised to stay. The road is terrible for vans, gravel and very narrow with sharp rocks. The dogs also jumped up on our doors and scratched the van. We tried calling on arrival a couple times but no answer. It’s a beautiful place though, a great view, quiet, safe but many sand flies! We found the number on the vehicle - 51984283418 via WhatsApp.

We stayed for one night and felt very safe and welcomed. There is a modern, clean shower and toilet. Stefanie is very friendly. We paid 20 Sol p.P.p.N. Beautiful place!

25 days in Peru and only one night at Casa de Lena, but this place is one of our favorites. A magnificent view, welcoming hosts, a perfect camping spot, very clean shower and toilet inside. Many thanks for welcoming us

Really nice camping spot in a school project. Stephanie is a great host and her project is really inspiring. We had a great time and wish we could stay longer.
The campsite is beautiful with an incredible view. The showers ( with hot water and pressure) and the toilets were really cleaned and open 24/7.
We highly recommend this place.

Quiet in the weekend, nice place. Beautifull views. Not really klean, but good place. Excesroad is good.

Report Check-In

Great cause to put your money towards. LOTS of young volunteers running the place. Very nice, but not a relaxing place to be. Internet by the house is great, but in the direct, hot sun until about midday, so hard to get work done in the morning. Also, kind of loud, from either music from then neighbors or the volunteers themselves. I came on a weekend, so maybe different during the week.
That all being said, it is a good place to get stuff done, see beautiful views, and put your money to a good cause.

Report Check-In

RUM: Sehr schön gelegener kleiner Campingplatz . Für größere Wagen ....größer als Unimog....jedoch ungeeignet, da es hier ganz schmale Kurven hat.

Report Check-In

We have a 19 foot van, it was a bit tough to get down (and back up) the last steep turn at the camping spot. Perhaps if you are big you can ask to camp on the platform just above the school instead of next to it?

Report Check-In

We are 8m long, 2.1 wide, had no big issue. Best to take the dirt road closest to bridge; much wider access. Wifi is intermittent at spots but can be quite fast near the main building. Still 15S pp. Laundry service available. Decent Bitel reception. Fifteen minute walk to market in town. Nice place to spend a few days.

Report Check-In

Very friendly owners, nice project with local kids.
The campground is very good (flat, nice view, fire pit, hot (not warm, hot) showers).
We paid 15soles per person per night, totally worth the price.
To access the campground, take the dirt road right after the bridge coming from Carahuasi. The dirt road is good and does not require a 4x4. The only thing that might be problematic for big rigs are the last 500m (the trail becomes steep and narrower). The best is to stop at the sign "Casa Lena" on the main trail and go down by foot to check the campground 500m below.

Great place, fantastic project, beautiful views and nice people! Wish we could've stayed longer. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

More than I expected. What a worthwhile project! Stephanie has dedicated her life to the kids here and what a great result ❤️
Ps - our vehicle is a big rig, 3.2m high, 7m long and pretty wide. Yes it was narrow and yes it was dirt 1.8km but we've travelled worse. We made it so don't be afraid of the other comments.

Report Check-In

difficile a trouver. au bout d une mauvaise piste apres le pont. acces pour 4x4 seulement.

Report Check-In

As everyone else said, a great place to stay. We also had some of our laundry done here for $4sol/kilo.

Report Check-In

We loved it here. The spot is just beautiful to spend a night. Amazing views, perfect facilities. The family are super lovely, and helped us get up the gravel hill in the morning... we needed our 4x4 to get up. 15/s per person for a night. It's also a school supporting disadvantaged children in the area. The loveliest place to stay.

Report Check-In

Nothing to add. Very nice family and good hosts. It's possible to drive there with 2WD. There are different possibilitys to park if you have less horspower. We have a Volkswagen T4 (Kombi) with 102 horsepower and a length of 4,8m. It was no problem.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for several nights. Our visit was beyond expectations (except for the bugs). We have nothing to add. When we were there they changed the entrance/exit of the small road towards Casa Lena; so now you have a better one. The entrance where you leave the main road is just before the bridge where you enter Corahuasi when you are coming out of the Cusco-direction. Follow the green signs 'Casa Lena'on the electricitypoles next to the road. We paid 15 Sol per person a night.

Report Check-In

Great place, worth supporting. Comfortable facilities for campers. They speak multiple languages with ease, and if you have kids they are going to love all the farm animals. The views alone are worth a stop. We paid 15pppn, and had electricity and access to WiFi [Password removed by moderator.]

Report Check-In

Really nice, friendly and superclean camping spot! Great project for kids! We enjoyed it very much! Thanks for the great hospitality.

Report Check-In

Very nice camping spot, views are amazing. If you email before you can have breakfast for 15 soles pp, best breakfast we had since a very long time! Bring moquito repellent though!! Owners are very nice and welcoming!

Report Check-In

Had no issues with our 2WD drive (short) van. Driveway steep but with concrete tracks, so no problem. Didn't see the hammocks but enjoyed the shaded area with fire pit. Think what they are doing with the children is amazing, added a picture with some more information. Only downside - got some bites from no see 'ums.

Report Check-In

We have a 28 feets RV and it was impossible to take the lane from the Main road. Very very narrow entrance.

Report Check-In

As the driver of a fairly big rig (7m long x 3.3m H x 2.4m W x 6 tonnes), I would strongly suggest that people DO take notice of earlier comments regarding access for larger vehicles. Just getting off the highway might end up with a back wheel down in the gutter if you misjudge the width and orientation of the 'bridge' and a long overhang would be a decided disadvantage. First part of the track is very narrow and uneven and there are sharp rocks along each side that might damage tyre sidewalls. There is almost nowhere to pass. Then it improves into a quality rural road until it gets to the entry. From there it is again steep and narrow with overhanging trees and shrubs and then a tight turn over a grid through a gate. Then it is clear of obstructions but steep and getting steeper as you get to the very short "concrete driveway". Not saying you CAN'T get in but I suggest that any conventional motorhome or truck with full legal width and or lowish clearance and or long overhang or poor traction would be well advised to give it a big miss.Add a bit of rain and things would get lots worse, especially in a 2WD

Report Check-In

Please ignore previous comments about difficult access, they have changed the access so longer vehicles can get in and concreted the drive. The very bottom into the garden might be tricky for some vehicles but there is a large area just above and beside the house available which has easy access and big enough to turn around.. They also now have electricity 24/7 (as from yesterday). Beautiful place and wonderful people helping local children, especially those with special needs that are often badly treated by their parents. This really is another Overland Oassis so please come and support them.

Report Check-In

Really amazing place! Highly recommended! We crossed over the bridge from town and turned up the steep dirt road on the right, the sign is hard to see. The drive down into their place is steep and getting out was the tricky part. Need 4x4, especially if it's rainy/muddy. We got breakfast overlooking the snow capped peaks of the Andes and it was one of the best breakfasts on the trip! They run a kindergarten/special needs classes on the weekdays and host volunteers, possible opportunities to work for them. Nice bathrooms and hot showers, very clean! S/40 for 3 people and S/10 each for breakfast.

Report Check-In

Super nice owners and peaceful location on about 2500m. It's a social project/school for kids + B&B (~70-90S per room) + camping (30S). Good place for smaller overland vehicles. Much milder climate than in Cusco. It's about 1 mile off the main road up a narrow, bumpy dirt road. Turn off coming from Cusco is a sharp left before the tambohuayco bridge by the town of Curahuasi. Didn't see any wifi network when we were there but didn't ask.

Report Check-In

Road to campground only suitable for 4x4 and small cars. Coming from Cusco turn left hard before the bridge at S 13.540285 W 72.693261 - there is no sign. If you have the chance always turn left. We arrived in the dark and left very early - haven't used any facilities so we don't had to pay anything. View is fantastic.

Report Check-In

Beautiful views of snow capped mountains and far enough away from the road that you won't be bothered by road noise. At about 9,000 feet it is also a good place to acclimate. Friendly owners, clean restrooms very hot showers. English spoken. 30S per night for camping. Turn right right after the bridge to get here up the dirt road, follow the green spray painted signs to Casa Lena on rocks and poles. Need 4x4, narrow road. We barley made the turns in and we are 7.5 meters. Over 8 you may not make the road in. They also have an NGO for kids here with volunteer opportunities. Belgium and Peruvian couple own it. Breakfast is 10s a person.

Report Check-In

Nice little place. S30 a night, S10/pp for breakfast. A little tricky to find, you need to turn up the hill just south of the bridge on the south end of town and stay left for the three forks in the road.

Casa Lena has a beautiful camping terrain with a magnificent view into the valley. In the main building, bathrooms and hot showers are at your disposal 24/7.
