Latest Check-Ins

Road finished, smooth tarmac all the way to the border with Congo :)

Report Check-In

There is still 40km unpaved to Djoume. The rest is super, no trafic and a new road. The red clay will be for sure slipery in the wet season.

Report Check-In

paved road here turns to clay road until djoum. they are working to pave it but i suspect another year or 2 will be needed.

passed at beginning of wet season and there had been no rain for 24 + hours. no flooding of the road and generally easy hardpack riding. However, all the logging trucks compact the road and give it a 'shiny' surface inte dry, so when there is any amount of dampness, the top layer of clay is extremely slippery. I dropped the bike once going 15 km per hour, no braking, no Accelerating, the back wheel just started the slide out on a slight downhill section. Road would be fine in dry, but any amount of rain will make it a challenge
