Description

Parking in a long thin grassed area in front of the hotel. Located next to a busy road, so noisy and smelly during the day, gets better at night. Outside tap with drinkable water, electricity sockets outside. Clean bathrooms and very hot showers. Good location: 3 minute walk to Plaza Vea supermarket and 10 minutes to downtown.
Wait in small layby outside on busy road and get someone to open the gate. Be careful as people are coming fast and they won't see you.
WiFi can be fast but doesn't always work. No kitchen.
Very expensive: price is 30 Soles/P person and day.
Forbidden to wash your laundry by hand, they do it for 8s/kg (better go downtown, 4s/kg)
Located: Av. La Marina 1001, Arequipa (close to Puente Consuelo

Latest Check-Ins

We stayed six nights because of a food poisoning. A very good place to rest. Hot showers, clean toilets, a sink for washing the dishes. Sure there is some traffic noise, but we were okay with it. Plazavea is in the walking distance as is the historical center. Wifi mostly works fine. Friendly people.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Perfect to stay with camper in Arequipa, super close to town, safe and very nice and helpful people working at the hotel! You can also just park your car safe, when going on a tour (and pay less for these nights) Showers clean and hot water!
Close to shoppingcenter PlazaVea.

Report Check-In

We stayed 10 nights inadvertently because Caspian got really sick for a few days. We got to park right next to the big sink, which was my dream come true. Bathrooms are kept very clean with super hot water. Probably not much more I can add. S/70 per night. Workers are super kind and Joaquin (black taxi) can drive you places. Highly recommend Masamama for coffee and the burger (yes, you heard me right). 13 Monjas was my favorite with incredible tikka masala and Eric loved the Lomo Pimiento.

Report Check-In

Everything still as described, very nice place to stay close to the center. Perfectly clean amenities, WiFi a bit slow though. Very nice and helpful people!

Report Check-In

very nice, some minutes walking distance to old town. big supermarket 5min away. amenities as described. 30 soles ppn, children 10 soles ppn in our truck camper.

Report Check-In

Great place to rest from your trip, close to the historic center and shops.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot to camp in a great location. The facilities are very clean. 30 soles per person per night.

Report Check-In

Go here!

We stayed 5 nights with one of the nights being for storage while we went on a tour of Colca canyon.

True, the place is next to a busy road. We turned on our fan for white noise and slept well.

Has everything you could want. Flat parking on grass. A nice counter with running water and large sink. The showers and bathrooms are amazing! HOT water with great pressure. Even hot water at the bathroom sink. Very clean. Close walk (5mins) to city center and grocery.

The hosts, Francisco (great English) and his wife are very kind and accommodating.

Not the least expensive option at 30s per person a night but for what you get it’s great.

We would definitely stay again.

Report Check-In

Good and very friendly city campground. Everything you need. And it fits big rigs easily…

Report Check-In

Stayed 2 nights and parked for 9 nights when traveling abroad. Okay place, location is directly next to 2 very busy roads, so noise all day and night. Terrible night sleep, you don’t get any rest due to honking, sirens, loud motorcycle racing. Stayed here because we didn’t have another choice. Flat, no nice views or much space. Parked close to each other. Neat toilet building.

Camping expensive (60S per day) but parking fair (30S per day).

Report Check-In

One of the best shower since the beginning of our travel. Friendly owners. Well located (10 minutes walk to the center). Great place to stay in Arequipa.

Report Check-In

After reading some of the reviews on here we were not expecting much. But this place is perfect. The camping area fits many vehicles- long and tall ones too and was a good hub in which to meet other Overlanders. Bathrooms cleaned on a daily basis- the staff are attentive and quick to change gas bottles for hot showers too. Water is potable, Wifi works and great location for the supermarket and colonial city. We spent 5 nights! (30 soles p/p but our four year old didn’t have to pay).

Report Check-In

Good Location close to the plaza and old town. 60 Soles for one night. Clean and hot showers.

Report Check-In

Great location to visit the city (700m from the main square) and very safe. Nice hot showers and bathrooms. Still 30s pp.

Report Check-In

It’s a closed parking lot with hot showers and a sink to wash your dishes. Safe and cheap but nothing to write home about.

30 soles per person/night

Report Check-In

It is an hostel and a camping near a main road so it is noisy. We parked our van here in grass for 30s ppn for camping. Bathroom is clean and shower is hot. Wifi is fast. 5min walk to the center.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Still a great place to be. 5 minute walk to center. Safe and flat. Parts of the city smells like black water and the smell comes into the campsite sometimes. But would stay here again. Hot water shower and fast WiFi. 30 soles PP.

Report Check-In

Spent a couple of nights here, 30soles per person per night. Laundry is possible, can’t remember the price per kg but payed 45 soles for two persons laundry of ~1 week.
Showers are good, no kitchen but a sink outside. Wifi is really good. They allow dogs.

Report Check-In

A great place to stay in Arequipa. We arrived at night and had no problems. Mr Gregory is very nice. The camping area has 2 wifi networks and the speed is ok. Hot water in showers and water sink. 30 pesos per person/ night

Report Check-In

We wanted to stay at this place, despite the ‘very high’ price of 25 PEN pp. per night, mentioned by other Overlanders. The place itself, we didn’t like so much, a small and narrow grassy field, between concrete walls, so no view at all. And on top ... the very big noise of the traffic on the big road crossing just behind and partly higher than the walls of this property. We never had such bad noise on a camp spot, we are sure that even at night it doesn’t become quiet. We anyhow went to the office to subscribe ... and the lady got another surprise: she raised her price to 30 PEN pp. per night. This is far too much for this kind of camping place ... We didn’t stay! There are no really good alternatives in Arequipa ... but much better price/quality (e.g. Parquedero Playa, where at least the nights were very very quiet till at least 8 AM, and at half the price, also in the city center)!

Report Check-In

As described by PanAmNotes - we really liked this place. Showers were strong and hot, bathrooms spotlessly clean, wifi worked fine and the noise some speak of is just typical city background noise - to be expected when you get a location this close to the centre. It gets quiet later at night when you want to sleep. Yes, a bit more expensive than other places but you are downtown in Arequipa, TOTALLY secure with great facilities, and just minutes to everything. I did tell the manager that their price was about 10 soles high but I doubt it will change.

Report Check-In

We spent 8 nights in this wonderful place with our Iveco Daily of 6,50 length. We paid 50 soles per night and 30 soles for just the car when we flew for a few days to Cusco. The parking is not very big, it maybe fits 5 or 6 big rigs. But it has grass and is surrounded by a very high wall which makes it very secure. The parking is actually part of the garden of a beautiful old villa, the Hostel Las Mercedes. German, the housekeeper, is a wonderful warmhearted person who keeps the whole place spotlessly clean. To the center it is only a few minutes walking, as well as the Vera Supermarket. We can only recommend this place and would definitely come back.

Report Check-In

Couldn't afford to stay here longer...it aint cheap. Location is great but noisy. WiFi wasn't particularly reliable. Bring earplugs and Mosquito repellent.

Report Check-In

We came for three days and stayed for seven. The location is excellent for exploring the city of Arequipe and for access to any facilities you might need. Spotlessly clean banos with toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels and hot showers. Fast wifi. Friendly staff. 25 soles pp per night. Secure with locked gates and controlled entry. Price seems reasonable for a place in the centre of big city.

Report Check-In

As the others said. Worst deal I've seen so far. Also lots of sandflies at this time of the year. Check pictures before coming. WiFi working half of the time. I'd recommend coming here only if you're too big for the other spot or if the price doesn't matter to you.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Not cheap (paid 50 soles for a van with 2 people), but worth it. Very clean toilets and showers, tap water (potable even tough taste like swimming pool), high speed internet, friendly staff and very closed to the center of the city. Anyway, you don't really have any other choices in Arequipa.

Report Check-In

As described by others. Very close to the city center, clean bathrooms with hot showers. They did our laundry for 6.- Soles. We stayed five nights in total and would recommend this place. It’s definitely expensive (25.- Soles pp) but safe!

Report Check-In

We wouldn't recommend this place. But because Arequipa doesn't have many alternatives we have stayed here anyway. Same as many other Overlanders (all 60+) with big rigs. We felt squeezed since there were so many cars and the grassy field is pretty narrow. We paid 25 soles p.p.p.n! they ask for parking your car while you are away: 25 soles per day. One car with one person: 30 soles. Laundry 8 Sol (!) per kg. You're not allowed to wash your laundry by hand. WiFi didn't work often, if it worked it was super slow. Once half day no electricity. Really a lot of flies which hurt and itch terribly for days. Because it is only separated with a wall from the highway it is pretty loud. At night the sound wasn’t too bad. The good thing is, the proximity of the city center. Otherwise it is too expensive for what you get. When we told them, they replied “in the city you pay 3 Sol per hour"!

Report Check-In

You are indeed in the middle of the city which is great for exploring. It is very loud during the day and you smell all the fumes from the heavy traffic. It was tough for us coming from the beautiful and quiet Colca Canyon.
Bathrooms are super clean.

Report Check-In

+ good location, 10 min to plaza de Armas
+ clean facilities and hot showers
+ parking on grass
+ WiFi available und camping area

- expensive, 50SOL for 2 person and a van for one night
- close to a very busy street, noisy
- sometimes bad urine smell, don’t know where it comes from, maybe the small river

Report Check-In

Lovely place. Really ideal location close to downtown- a good amount of other overlanders there. Nice bathrooms. Good WiFi. You park on grass along the wall- feels super secure. Would definitely recommend.

Report Check-In

Given that this is located in the city center, noise is not really an issue. During the day there is heavy traffic, but in the night it is relatively quiet. Facilities are very good and clean.

Report Check-In

Very nice, grassy, gated and secure spot. Bathrooms were clean, hot shower, and tp. Good WiFi. Good for big rigs. Close to center. 25pp for camping in van or tent. Close to highway, in our van it wasn’t noisy though. Double room costs 125. Breakfast is 15pp.

Report Check-In

25 soles pppn

We camp here with our Defender rooftop tent and we had a very bad night due to pollution and noise of the road just behind the wall. We don’t recommend this place for rooftop tent.

Great staff, great location, good facilities, dog friendly. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it a lot. Grassy area, hot shower with lots of pressure. Very well maintained. More overlanders than hotel guests. Go for it.

Report Check-In

The rate has risen to 26 soles per person. At each visit there is an increase! Hot showers, clean bathrooms. But the wifi is off at night!
It's quite expensive, but close to the center. There must be a way to get cheaper as we paid 72 soles for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Drive up Av. La Marina until you see the blue gate at the right hand side. Stop at the curb and use the intercom at the fenced door for attention (there is a bell button above, but was of no use). Depending on the time of the day, it might take a while. Single person is 25 Soles per night, more people pay each 23 Soles per night.

Report Check-In

First... to clarify, anyone who is coming by themselves in their RV, van, etc. it is S./25 a night

Ursula, the owner is very nice, and it’s, ideally a great place to stay. It’s got clean bathrooms, hot showers, good internet, and walking distance to anything you’d need.

But... it’s super noisy. Literally right next to the highway (literally on the other side of the wall). So don’t expect peace, quiet, and a good sleep (even with earplugs, the vibrations of the trucks or the high pitch motorcycles wake you in the night).

That being said, overall, it is a good place to stay in a cool City.

Report Check-In

The best place to stay in Arequipa. 5 minutes to a great grocery store, 15 to the center, good wifi, clean bathrooms, hot showers etc... etc... One of the best city camping options we’ve seen on the trip.

They've taken extra steps to make it great for overlanders. Dedicated bathroom and shower block with two showers for each men and women. We stayed five nights and had very hot water the whole time. Sink for washing up. Also dedicated wifi router. This is the first time in Peru we've had wifi that not only connects and works but is actually extremely fast. Plus, you can walk into town easily. Big road makes it a bit noisy outside camper in daytime but you can also go into the interesting old lounge in the hotel. For us, the conveniences were totally worth the cost (23/person).

Report Check-In

We spent two nights here. It has really clean bathrooms with hot showers, toilet paper and paper towels!! The people are friendly, the site has parking for 4 to 6 rigs - be sure to call ahead with the WhatsApp number listed in other posts to make sure there is room. Pull up to the blue gate and ring the bell, they will open the door for you. We did our laundry - same day service for 39 soles. It was easy and cheap to take a taxi to the central square for sightseeing and dinner, leaving our truck in a safe, locked, gated grassy area. Great WiFi in the camping area and inside in the cozy hangout space. Highly recommend if you are visiting Arequipa!

Also note that if you are traveling from Arequipa to Lake Titicaca, take the shortcut shown on maps.me in order to bypass Juliaca. The road is less traveled, but a very good, dirt road through small farming communities. It doesn’t look like a through road, but it is and saves at least an hour driving time.

Perfect place in the city - nice grass to spread out on, super lovely staff, few blocks from the plaza and room for about 6 vehicles. The wifi was intermittent, up by the hotel it's more reliable. Report Check-In

Long grassy area to park in front of hotel. Quite a bit of space for big rigs. Bathrooms cleaned daily, showers nice and hot. We could get wifi all the way past the bathrooms, but the signal was best closer to the hotel lobby. There is an outdoor sink for washing dishes. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Plaza Vea grocery store about two blocks away, and short walk to the city centre. 22 soles per person.

we stayed 3 nights. not very much space for RV's but 4 or 5 can stay. very friendly place. entry is the big blue gate. ring the bell. clean hot showers and toilets only for campers. free wifi, best near the office.

A strange hostal behind a big blue gate. It's run like a countryside estate, with bell boys and everything. Long grassy overlander "drive through" parking. Can hold at least six or more large rigs. Hot showers, poor wifi. Dogs on leash was ok. 22SpP. 5 blocks to historical center. One block to super market.

We were allowed in with dogs but only with leash, they couldn't roam freely.
22 soles pp

Great place to stay. Campers are allowed to be in the Lobby with comfy seats and good WLAN.
Two negative points:
- Quite noisy spot.
- Having done your laundry in the hostel will cost about 3 times the price you pay in the city.

Nice garden in the city. Clean bathroom. Not too noisy.Big rigs friendly.

We stayed for three nights at s/22 per person. Bathrooms are spotless with hot water for showers and paper! Grounds were clean and hotel lobby had reasonably fast consistent wifi and mid 60s hunting lodge decor. Road noise is a bit loud in the morning as taxis must use horns to navigate the road and attract customers. Quick walk to Plaza Vea grocery and 10 min walk to Plaza de Armas. Very secure with tall walls and camera/buzzer entry door. A very pleasant stay.

Lovely Hotel with long thin grassed area for parking. Outside tap for water, electricity sockets outside. Dedicated overland bath rooms and showers. Can only stay when there are no overlanders so email ahead to check. Gorgeous lounge inside with quick internet. 3 minute walk to Plaza Vea supermarket and 10 minutes to town. Cost S22 per person per night. Staff are very friendly. Wait in small layby outside on busy road and get someone to open the gate. No need to turnaround inside as you can drive straight through to gate at the other end.
