Latest Check-Ins

Stayed here for free with the night tour, which is now 34 dollars. The tour is not worth it though since we didn’t see much and there were sooo many groups. The campsite was fine.

Report Check-In

As described - nothing to add. Nice and welcoming hosts - perfect place in Santa Elena for big rigs like ours.

Report Check-In

If you book the night walk, you can camp here for free. The night walk we take was really worth it, we saw a lot of animals.

Report Check-In

Stayed here two nights, and is as described. The location is just outside of town, the owners were pleasant and friendly. The shower is hot. $10 USD/person/night. night tours with camping is $30 USD/person/night. Children are free. Will stay here again if in Monteverde

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights. Place is as described, nice location to do various tours around Monteverde.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot to spend the night. We did the (expensive) night walk with Santmaria and the overnight was included at no extra charge. We found a flat spot near the sheltered dining area with attached bathrooms. We also plugged in and charged our batteries while we were here. Several other overlanders were also parked overnight. Lots of solar, nice breeze and prime location for exploring town and the surroundings. Many trails intersect with the parking area. The night tour was also fun and we saw lots of birds, a giant stick bug, venomous snakes and scorpions.

Very cool place. Ok for big rigs. Don t need 2w/4w.
10$us/p/n. Calm

Report Check-In

We stayed here for two nights, paid for the night walk $25pp and got a night for free, paid $10pp to stay an extra night. A little pricey, however with covered shelter, high enough for a jeep and tent on top is worth it. Plus a hot shower which was welcomed. Can get busy, so if you want shelter it’s worth getting here before 4pm/5pm.

Report Check-In

Nice campground next to a soccer field. We went in rainy season so we’re very happy with the shelter! Suitable for 3 cars even with rooftop tent. Shower and toilets were clean, you have a refrigerator with freezer and a place to cook and sit.

Report Check-In

Nice camp ground with clean toilets and showers, cooking area, electric outlets are available too. Took the Nightwalk tour and the overnight stay was complimentary. Might stay a couple of more nights as it's just $5 pp/n.

Report Check-In

We did the night walk and also camped there, both really recommendable. The campsite is quite new and well taken care of, there is a big roof which fits 3 cars with rooftop tents. Showers with warm water, clean toilets, cooking area with sink. Great to shelter from the constant Monteverde rain during rainy season!

Report Check-In

luscious green grassy parking area with room for everyone. the bathroom/kitchen area is great with a spigot to fill water and many power outlets. although no one stocked the toilet paper or removed the trash for the 4 nights we stayed here. best hot shower since San Cristobal! the owners/reception area is closed all day until 530pm before the night tour starts so you have to check in then. recommend chatting with them after the tours leave by 630. so the place is all to yourselves, and the other campers, all day. dog friendly, with tons of space for them to run around in, but we were asked to keep the dogs on leash while tours go by, from 530 to 10ish. the hiking trails are available to walk on during the day, and there are many kilometers of them to explore, but seeing the wildlife is quite hard during the day. camping is only free the night you do the tour. other nights are 5pppn.

Report Check-In

Clean toilets, warm showers, flat campground. Our camping fee was waived since we booked a night tour with them.

Report Check-In

Very nice grass spot ! toilets + hot shower very clean and functional. 5$ per night pp. Electricity available and wifi at the reception from the tour. Very calm, 20min walk to the town.

Report Check-In

Nice place! We stayed here (2021-11-6) because we did the night tour, which is also highly recommended. There is actually a hot shower here! The rest of the facilities are also very nice and clean. We pitched our tent under the roof to escape the rain.

Belle place tranquille, 3000 colones par personne, toilette tres propre, douche chaude, toît pour s'abriter

Free with night walk ($25). $5 per person otherwise. Nice, hot shower, clean toilets. We have a rooftop tent, and they placed us inside the large open shed. Dry night! Motmots nesting in the bank, agoutis trundling around in the morning. Outstanding!

Report Check-In

nice place!! plenty of grassy, flat space. nice kitchen, clean bathrooms and HOT shower. what a treat. the family that owns the place is very nice. we did the night your as well, touristy but pretty cool. saw 3 sloths, birds...easy walk to town. $25 USD pp for the tour or $10 USD pp to camp. little pricey, but worth the splurge. (there is WiFi by the office)

Report Check-In

Good place to sleep, quiet and clean. Hot shower, toilets, electricity and kitchen area are available. The soccer field is big enough for several campers (we were 2). We paid 25$ pp with the night walk where we saw several animals, nice but crowdy (many groups and many companies suggest this tour) .

Report Check-In

pictures are out of date. they now have a covered area for 3-4 vehicles, I was able to fit my 8'6" rig with rtt in no issue. also are two bathrooms and a hot shower.

price is $10/pp or free with the $25/pp tour. we took the tour and it was enjoyable.

Report Check-In

We found this place after having seen other overlanders' reviews. Asked at friendly reception if we could camp overnight, cost was either $5 pp or free if you did the $25 pp night walk. Campground was easily accessible, large flat pitch with well lit covered camping area if raining. Clean showers, warm water. Oh and night hike was EXCELLENT as well, thanks Ebez!

Perfect spot for a calm night near to monteverde
25$ per person for a night walk + one camp night + clean facilities

Report Check-In

Really clean and flat soccer camp, close to the town center. Really good ground, area with water, incredibly warm shower, clean toilets and kitchen area. i really recommend the place, for 10$/night for 2 people / car / tent it is really worth it. really windy and cold when we have been though!

Report Check-In

Very clean place with all services, toilets, showers with hot water and electricity. The owner is very welcoming. If you ride the night at $ 25 USD per person camping is free. I recommand it.
Endroit très propre avec tous les services, toilettes, douches à l’eau chaude et électricité. Le propriétaire est très recevant. Si vous faites le tour de nuit à 25$USD par personne le camping est gratuit. Je le recommande.

now has covered kitchen area but only with sink. plus 2 toilets and shower with warm water. electricity points all around kitchen bathroom area. internet only by office. we paid $10 per adult pn (our kids 8 and 11 yrs were free) and our 4th night was free. very windy in Santa Elena this time of year. this was great place for us to stay so we could spend our money on other things - plenty of options for that in Santa elena!

Report Check-In

agree with hereuntilthere, it's a great place to stop. large flat field, basic but clean facilities. wifi up at the office. Very windy in a roof tent at this time of year, by the loos seemed the most sheltered spot. We did the night walk and had 2 nights camping free.

Report Check-In

Small Soccer field with bathroom and cold shower. Very nice hosts. Some walking trails nearby used for the night walk which anyone can use. $10 per night with water and electric hookup. 2k walk to center of town.

Report Check-In

Really great spot close to Santa Elena. Norman was very friendly, and seemed excited about having overlanders stay at his place. He asked if he could take a picture of our rigs, and then wanted to show us pictures of his other camping guests. He was also working on building a covered area while we were there. We were too tired for a night tour, but he was happy to have us stay for $5pp. That included flush toilets (with tp), cold shower, and electricity (if you camp near the bathroom building). The night tour is $25pp which includes free camping. Great option if you want to be close-ish to town. Highly recommended.

He's building a kitchen, camping spots etc. so in the future it'll probably be $5-$10 plus power etc.
