Something not right?

Description

Nice quiet place direct at the church and close to the waterfall. No facilities. It seems that no one lives next to the church as the houses are closed with stones. We managed the road from Sucre to Maragua with a VW T3 2WD and it was ok (dry season).

church of Maragua. in front of the church there is a small, fairly flat parking lot where you can spend the night. You can also leave your vehicle there to go on hikes to the Santa Ana viewpoint and the Gargante del Diablo.

nice spot. local people were enthusiastic about us staying there with our toddler.

Report Check-In

Spent a quiet night here in a self contained rig. No water. No bathrooms. Cell service. No one spoke to us. A bus came in at 7:30 and dropped off a few people. A few dogs stopped by.
Take your trash, there is already some here. Make a plan for your poop. Nothing here to help you dispose of it.
There was nothing going on in town. No weavers, no shops, no school. One small tienda open. Had we known we would not have made the trip. Just gone to hot springs instead.

no problem camping here, the next morning we found a tienda for clean water as well, which is after you go down n up the ditch pass the maragua plaza. a guy named Marcelo who owns 2 cows came up to us while we were at the garganta del diablo saying he had some problem w his phone, so he came for help afterwards while we were cooking in the church courtyard. I helped him download WA and text his amigos for the next 30m, we offered him some food too. Afterwards he claimed this was his area and that he grazed his cows here. We knew he was lying as the area didn't make sense. Afterwards he asked die 20 bobs so he could buy some data the next day. We helped him out with this, but talking to the lady at the tienda the next day confirmed that it wasn't his. People around this area don't have much so they kept asking things from us as we made our way to Potolo, coco leaves, headlamps, water, food

Comme décrit, place platte tranquille. Les habitants de Maragua sont moins sauvages que dans la campagne environnante 👍Ils ont répondu plus facilement à nos saluts…

Report Check-In

Came here after having a couple of young drunk guys who we think were asking us to leave a spot on the side of the road closer to the Las Huellas de Dinosario. We think they were just drunk and curious.

We also got a knock here in the morning (8am) from a lady who maybe wanted to know when the bus was leaving? ;) Otherwise we had a quiet night.
